Getting through a tough week.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I've had a pretty long week. From waking up before 5 am three days this week for practice, to spending time in classes, at work, and in the gym, this week kicked my butt. So at the end of the week, I wanted to look back and think about all of the things that get me through a hard week like this one. These "things" will be different for all of us; but I hope they provide you with some ideas of what might help you get through your next hard week (or even day, month, or year).

1. The end of a good workout.

2. My morning eggs.

3. Spontaneously running into my friends around campus.

4. Coloring.

5. Grilled cheese.

6. Reading a good book.

7. Writing.

8. Learning something new (in class, about someone, etc.).

9. Reconnecting with people from my past.

10. Chocolate chip muffins and cookies.

11. My bed.

12. Catching up on my shows (if I have the time).

13. Going to sleep early.

14. Spending time with friends.

15. Talking to my mom.

16. Keeping up on sports news.

17. Ben and Jerry's (or ice cream in general).

18. My nerd emoji pillow.

19. Lacrosse (had to put it here cuz #19 for life!!).

20. Knowing my birthday is in less than a month.

21. My sisters.

22. When it gets "warm" out in January.

23. My boyfriend.

24. Free anything.

25. Writing.

There are so many more things that help me get through a tough week. These are just a few that I thought about as I sat here wondering how in the world I survived. So next time you have a rough week, remember the things that make you happy. No matter how big or how small, they will make the week a little bit easier to handle.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
