I get bored easily, especially with my appearance. If you know me, then you know that I'm constantly talking about changing my hair. I have always been known by my long—in my opinion too long—hair. But I always get bored with it.

The conversation about my hair usually goes as follows:

"I want to cut my hair. What do you think?"
"No don't do it! Why would you cut your hair? People pay for that, you know."

Why would anyone cut their long hair? Here is why I made the big chop.

1. Long hair is sweaty.

Imagine wrapping a blanket around your shoulders, and leaving it there forever.

2. It's heavy.

Butt length hair is estimated to weigh about a pound when it's wet. Your head only weighs 8 pounds. You do the math.

3. It takes forever to brush.

Not to mention you get a bicep workout.

4. It tangles super easily.

Remember how it takes forever to brush?

5. You have to use so much product.

My serving size of conditioner with my long hair was about a handful. Now multiply that handful times seven days a week, that's a lot of conditioner.

6. It's expensive.

Hair products start to add up when you're using them so fast.

7. It gets caught in things.

8. It is always flat.

The weight of long hair pulls down (thanks, gravity) leaving you with flat hair no matter how hard you try otherwise.

9. Blowdry? Don't even think about it.

That is unless you have an hour to dry it.

10. Styling takes a million years.

Any girl with long hair has never said "let me quick just curl my hair."

11. Split ends.

It is estimated that it takes three to four years for hair to grow 16 inches from the roots. That being said, after four years of heat damage the ends are slightly terrifying.

12. No hairstyles.

Either it takes too much work or too much time, so you actually end up just wearing your hair down and natural every single day.

13. You find long hair everywhere.

It's one thing to have a piece of hair on your shirt, it's another to have a two foot strand swinging from your behind.

14. It overshines your outfit.

"Wait, let me see your shirt, move your hair."

15. The "Ombre Shine"

The top is shiny. The bottom is dull. I call this the "Ombre Shine" effect, except this ombre isn't trendy.

16. You break all of your hair ties.

17. Your arms hurt when you try putting it up.

Oh, you want a high messy bun? Hope you've got endurance.

18. It whips you in the face.

19. It whips other people in the face.

20. The "Hair Curtain" is never a cute look.

I don't want to look at someone who is 50 percent hair. Ew.

21. Dyeing it takes all day.

And it costs twice as much as dying shorter hair.

22. It takes approximately 10 years to dry naturally.

23. Neck problems.

24. The "long hair don't care" myth.

You do care, because maintaining long hair is not effortless. Trust me. So, if you're thinking about making the big chop like me, I say: do it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
