It's always good to take a step back and reflect on your life. Everything is so fast paced nowadays and before we even realize it, days and weeks have turned into months and years. We are being told to live more in the moment and to really appreciate the good as well as the bad.

This year I will be turning 25, which means that I have lived for a quarter of century. During this time I have had my fair share of incredible moments, tough life lessons that I had to go through and everything else in between.

Throughout it all, these are the 24 most important takeaway's I have learnt in 24 years.

1. Life is a roller coaster of ups and downs and there is nothing you can do about it. You are in this ride until the end, so embrace it.

2. Laugh as much as you can because it's not only good for your soul but also might cheer up someone else as well.

3. Appreciate the small things, like the sun shining in the morning when you wake up. They are what makes life so worthwhile.

4. Spotify Premium will save your life. Whether on your daily morning commute, when you are traveling or at home being able to always listening is one of the best things ever.

5. Love yourself. It should be simply but yet it can be harder than anything you'll ever have to do.

6. Tell your loved ones that you love them. You never know when will be the last time you will see them.

7. Take risks. Life is far too short to always stay in your comfort zone.

8. Eat whatever it is you want. While yes, moderation is important sometimes you should just eat that cake because you want to.

9. Get rid off anything toxic in your life, whether it's people, things, bad habits. It is not worth your time or effort.

10. Set yourself goals and don't stop until you achieve them. You are capable of doing anything you want to and the feeling when you reach that goal is phenomenal.

11. Materialistic things are not going to bring you engulfment. Stop wasting your money on them.

12. Read and educate yourself on whatever you are interest in. Intelligence comes in all shapes and forms and it gives you great satisfaction if you know something that other people might not.

13. Everyone goes through life at their own pace. Just because the people around you are checking off one milestone after another doesn't mean you are doing something wrong. It simply means that you are going at a different pace than they are.

14. Travel! And not in the most touristy, hotel and all-inclusive kind of way. Go and really explore another country and culture. You will be rewarded in more ways than you thought possible.

15. Remember that everyone carries their own load. Don't be too quick to jump too conclusion. A little bit of empathy can go a long way.

16. Hard times will sometimes knock you down on your knees and you have no idea how to get back up. Time will ALWAYS help you and show you a way back.

17. Write in a journal so you will remember everything later down the road.

18. Find your happiness.

19. Treasure your friends and family and the times you get to spend together.

20. It's more than alright to make mistakes. Own up to them and learn from it.

21. Take care of your mental well being. Make it a priority because no one else will.

22. Get involved! Find something you are passionate about and try to help bring about change.

23. Always remember that everything happens for a reason even if you don't realize it at the time.

24. Everything will be okay in the end. Perseverance is key to get through this life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
