Are you about to move into your first apartment? Maybe your second?

Are you trying to achieve a Pinterest board look, but you're also on a tight budget?

You'll definitely need these 22 decorations:

1. Flowers.

Whether they're the fake 97 cent ones from Walmart or beautiful, real ones, having flowers throughout your apartment creates a light, comfortable environment.

2. Tapestries and/or flags.

Do you have a lot of white space on your walls? Tapestries are the perfect filler. You can find great ones at Urban Outfitters, on Amazon, or at local boutiques.

Flags are also a perfect option.

3. Pillows.

If you're balling on a budget, buying your own furniture may be difficult. You might have to purchase worn down couches or chairs, but that's okay! Visit places like TJ Maxx, Ross, Walmart, or Target and find perfect pillows to dress up your furniture!

Even if dull furniture comes with your apartment, you can still use pillows to create a great space! Remember, not everything HAS to match.

4. Throw blankets.

Again, if you need a little something to make your furniture pop, throw blankets are perfect! You can find very cute and very inexpensive options at Target, TJ Maxx, or even places like Dollar General!

5. Rugs.

Need pops of color in your apartment? Finding colorful rugs to place throughout your space is the perfect way to create a beautiful space.

6. Picture frames.

Nothing says home like picture frames full of wonderful photos. Look for rustic frames at places like TJ Maxx, Ross, thrift stores, and even Target.

7. Small signs.

Signs with sweet sayings on them are perfect for creating cozy spaces.You can find them almost anywhere!

8. Place mats, table runners, dish towels.

Nothing says "welcome to my home" like beautiful, decorative, or festive kitchen essentials! TJ Maxx, Target, or Walmart are perfect places to explore!

9. Floor lamps.

Floor lamps are actually really cheap at Walmart and Target. The create cozy spaces for you, your roommates, and your guests!

10. Small bowls/decorations for window sills.

The perfect vintage look! Fill them with flowers!

11. At least one set of nice dishes.

Setting dishes on your table will definitely make your apartment feel like home!

12. Alternative seating.

It's okay if your furniture doesn't match perfectly! Invest in alternative seating to give your living room a unique look. You can explore bean bags, stools, or round foldable chairs!

Throw a pillow or two on them and you'll be ready to go! Target and Walmart have great, inexpensive options!

Placing them against walls or on top of tables/counters is perfect for displaying your kitchen tools, books, or other personal items.

Don't spend a lot of money on a super fancy bed spread! Find a simple one and use your money to invest in colorful, patterned pillows and blankets.

The perfect way to create a cozy space! Invest in string lights or scented candles to give your rooms a soothing look.

Do you have trophies, ribbons, or other personal achievement knick knacks? Place them throughout your apartment to make your space feel like home. The best part is, they're free!

19. Accent books or scrapbooks.

Stacking books you've read or scrapbook you've created along your shelves, on night stands, or along coffee tables are the perfect way to decorate your space.

20. Curtains.

Again, you can find simple, or creatively patterned, curtains at places like TJ Maxx or Walmart for less than 25 dollars!

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
