23 Things I've Learned.

Always be grateful for what you have, you never know what could happen next.

Don't compare yourself to others. You're not on the same journey.

Pain is temporary. You need the bad to experience the good.

No one is paying attention to you. They're too busy worrying about themselves.

Forgiving others and yourself is essential. Anger only weighs you down.

It's okay to fail. Learn from your mistakes and try and try again. Never give up!

Don't take criticism personally. It has nothing to do with you.

There's more than one way to do things. Listen to other points of view.

You don't need it. Yes, that junk on amazon. Spend responsibly! You'll regret it later, trust me.

Learning to work with those you dislike is important. Spend your energy wisely. Don't let one person interfere with your goals.

There'll be people who don't like you and it has nothing to do with you.

Just do the damn thing. Stop procrastinating. You'll feel so much better once it's done.

Sleep is important. I know it's hard when you're a night owl, but your health is a top priority. Don't neglect it.

Exercise is important. Only a few minutes or an hour out of your day can do wonders. You'll feel so much better mentally and physically once it's done.

Healthy eating. What you eat largely effects your mood and well-being. It's a form of self-care.

You don't need a plan. You love plans, but you can't prepare for anything. You never know what will happen next, so just trust the process.

Spend time with those you care about. Work can wait.

Everybody you meet knows something you don't.

No one knows what they're doing either. We're always trying the best we can. We're in this world together.

Be the better person. Always choose to be kind in the face of those who choose to be otherwise.

Get off your phone. Stop watching the TV. Get outside, spend time with a friend. Stop wasting time on trivial things. Don't take a moment for granted.

You don't owe anyone anything.

It's okay to be sad. It's even okay to cry. Don't bottle your feelings, let them out. Then pick yourself up and move on.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
