23 Things I Just Don't Understand

People are confusing.

There are so many things that people do and that I do not and will not ever understand.

1. People that do not like Christmas

Christmas is seriously the greatest holiday. I. Do. Not. Understand.

2. People that do not like music

I just do not understand how hating music is possible.

3. People that do not tip

I am a broke college kid and I still make it a point to tip 20% every single time I eat out. Waiters/waitresses do not make enough and make most of their money from tips. But when you tip, make sure you leave at least 15%.

4. People that litter

Why destroy the environment and the animals that live in it?

5. People that hate animals

How? Animals are the best and provide so much comfort.

6. People that like English class

I just do not understand how people like English. If I know how to speak English, then isn't that enough?

7. People that stay out late partying during the school week

I have early morning classes and like do you just skip the next day? Because I show up and I still do not understand what is happening. Or do you come hungover because that does not sound too fun, either?

8. People that can function on less than 5 hours of sleep

If I get 5 hours of sleep, I am falling asleep in my 8 AM and am out of it for the rest of the day.

9. People that drive slower than the speed limit

Why? If the speed limit is 45, why in the world are you going 35?

10. Slow walkers

If I am shopping, and you are walking super slow in front of me, chances are I am just going to cut you off and you will get pissed at me.

11. Loud talkers

There is no need to scream when we are 5 feet apart. Talk with your inside voice, please and thank you.

12. People that disrespect their elders

They are older than you first of all.

13. People that blame everything on millennials

I'm sorry Sheila that I am a broke college kid. I'm sorry that I'm not out there buying diamonds because my college is three times the price yours was when you went 100 years ago.

14. People that play their music so loud I can hear it when I'm a good 10 feet from them

How are you not deaf? Also, I do not want to listen to your music with you. I want to listen to my own music.

15. People that drive without their headlights on in the fog or rain

Am I going to get hit by you because I can't see you? Probably. Just turn them on. It's not that hard. I promise.

16. People that do not use their turn signal

Again, it isn't that hard. You push it down for left and up for right. Chances are, I will actually slow down and let you over if you signal instead of just cutting me off.

17. People that try to pass you in the lane that ends in less than 100 feet

Just merge behind me. There are already other cars in front of me so you can't even go fast. There is no point in riding the lane out.

18. People that wear heels to school

You do you, honey. But I know, I like to be as comfortable as possible and heels are not comfortable at all. But again, you do you.

19. People that make fun of others at the gym for their weight

They are at the gym working on themselves just like you are. They could be sitting at home not working out.

20. People that do not like Panera

How? It is healthy and they have a lot of options.

21. Uptight people

I am more of a go with the flow type of person and I just do not understand how you could be anything but.

22. People that do not like Mexican food

Tacos are so good. So are chips and queso.

23. People that drink milk

Ew. It just doesn't taste good unless it is in coffee.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
