Single life can be a little bit sad sometimes if everyone around you is in a relationship but it doesn’t always have to be.

Being single is the best time to focus on your self.

Here is a list of 22 things to do once you’re single:

1. Treat yourself to dinner

2. Volunteer somewhere

3. Binge watch your favorite show

4. Look at yourself in the mirror. I mean ACTUALLY look at yourself

5. Make a list of ten things you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t and pick one to do each week

6. Dance around your room with your music blasting

7. Don’t apologize for anything

8. Spend a whole day doing nice things

9. Wear something you normally wouldn’t wear

10. Meet as many new people as you can

11. Take a drive just to listen to music with your best friend

12. Travel

13. Treat your body the best you ever have

14. Take way too many selfies and post them all

15. Go to the mall and try on clothes you can’t afford

16. Read

17. Get rid of all the clutter In your life

18. Stop surrounding yourself with negative people

19. Sit outside with nature more often

20. Flirt. Always.

21. Start doing something again that you’ve stopped

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
