I turn 22 in precisely three weeks which is beyond terrifying even more so compared to the realization that I end my second to last semester of my undergraduate career in the same time frame. Anyways, over the Thanksgiving break, I began to reflect on the 21 things that I've learned in my existence on earth. Here they are:

1. Always Set Your Alarm for AM not PM

Did this once never did it again.

2. Always Make Time To Call Your Family

I even FaceTime them when I'm cooking.

3. Hard Work Pays Off

4. Take Time For Yourself

However, if you're late bring baked goods and an apology works like a charm.

5. Not Everyone Is Going To Like You

That's completely fine.

6. If People Nickname You For Your Height Accept It

I have the pleasure of being called 'giraffe' and that's okay too.

7. Coffee Is A Gift From the Heavens

8. Failing is Okay As Long As You Learn From Your Mistakes

9. Wear Colorful Things!

Life is seriously too short to wear black all the time.

10. Every Now And Then Step Out Of Your Comfort Zone

This allows you to grow even more as a person.

11. Choose Happiness

12 Choose Sleep

13. An Emoji Says A Thousand Words

14. The Best Accessory Is A Smile

Or A Newspaper or possibly a dog.

15. Always Let The Person With The Longest Arms Take The Selfie

Usually that's me.

16. You're Never Too Old To Call Mom For Help

17. Learn To Say 'No'

This is extremely important as you cannot do everything even though you want to.

18. Always Stand Up For Your Beliefs

Your opinion DOES matter

19. Education Is The Most Important Tool You Can Have

Knowledge is power.

20. Accept Criticism

Extremely important as you will learn more from critiques and it will allow you to grow as a person.

21. I Still Have A lot To Learn

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
