While I have never truly dated any girls, I am a lucky guy.

That is because over the past 2-3 years, I have experienced strong friendships with plenty of beautiful girls I have known from high school. I have not, and probably will never date any of these respective girls.

However, since today is National Girlfriend Day, I wanted to take some to thank the people that make life worth living for. For my "girlfriends", this one is for you.

1. Thank you for always presenting yourself with a friendly personality to me.

2. Your senses of fashion are outstanding.

3. Thanks for all of the amazing pictures we have taken over the years.

4. School dances would never be the same without you.

5. Thanks for all of the ice cream/smoothie runs, and nights out at Culver's at Don's.

6. There is no other feeling and sudden burst of excitement in the World when I get a text at 11 at night, maybe even past midnight from one of you asking me to drive you home from someone's house. Listening to SpongeBob music is always the best choice on our late night drives in the car.

7. Thanks for letting me cry on you during the few moments I've had to. Leaving you for a few months is the most difficult thing.

8. I really don't ever want to let any of you down. I promise I will do the absolute best I can for all you girls to see me thrive this year. Plenty of you were in the group of hundreds of people that have told me Iowa is such a great fit for me where I can thrive and succeed in the classroom and I want to prove it to happen.

9. I can't wait for the day when you come visit me in Iowa City.

10. Hopefully one day, I'll make the trip out to one of your schools.

11. For the few girls who I became good friends with at my first year spent at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, don't think I'll forget about you. I want to see all of you succeed at UWW. And for those that are athletes, go do what UWW does better than any other Division III school in the nation. Win a National Championship! Yes, while my heart told me to leave the school to pursue what I have been dreaming about, I thought I would leave the school without much regard and feeings about the people I met. That didn't become true. The friendships I made with some of the girls at the D3 Powerhouse I hope can still last heading forward. It became a little difficult having to leave UWW, and that is not something I believed would be true. Those small weekend parties in a dorm room (UWW is kind of in the middle of nowhere part of Wisconsin. So the dorm rooms are where many students go to have fun on Saturday nights). I won't forget about the crazy nights I once had there. It would be a major highlight of my college career if a few of those girls make the trip to Iowa City for a weekend. While things obviously didn't work out for me and the school for a variety of reasons, I still hope things can work out in terms of the friendship I made in the first year.

12. If I ever was too rough on any of you, please forgive me. I never want things to end because I was too harsh, too clingy, or anything wrong or negative in something like that.

13. Thanks for always appreciating my love for wings. Never did I think a girl would appreciate a man's love for a greasy food.

14. For those of you that are dating, you and your boyfriend are a very lovely couple. I hope you will get married to him and one day call you by his last name.

15. And for those of you that have struggled in your relationships, maybe don't have a boyfriend yet, I know someone will absolutely love you for the person you are. You do deserve to find a very hot boyfriend in college.

16. I wouldn't want to drive miles out to some place, even if it was at 5 in the morning, just to watch you compete in your sport.

17. I want more pics of us at Lollapalooza when I am there this weekend.

18. For those of you heading into a medical field of any kind, don't party too hard. Because if I ever have kids, I am taking them to see you (if we live in the same area).

19. And if I ever do have a daughter, I want to name them after some of you.

20. For those of you that I know who are pursuing education degrees, I believe all of you have the ability to become teacher of the year.

21. My biggest regret was not being in the same as some are. I would've killed to have spent my senior year Spring Break in Mexico or Punta Cana with all of you. But I was just one year older for that to happen. Missing out on that will always sting forever.

Last one: I doubt I will ever get married to any of you. But if by chance I ever do get married, I want all of you girls to be there at my wedding. The invite to my wedding has nothing to do with me trying to lure extra money or gifts from your families. Trust me, I will not be one of those people to you girls that invites distant friends I have not been that close with for the last 10-15 years just to get extra money from you and your families. I want you there because if the day ever happens, all of you were huge building blocks in showing me that a friendship between a man and a women is a very possible thing. If that lady is ever found, I will tell them all about you and what you mean to me and how all of you were an excellent example in making this relationship between me and (insert the name of the girl who I have not met yet) to grow because I was once friends with you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
