Halloween is for sure my favorite time of year. The weather, the leaves, the outings, the horror movies.... It's no wonder that I have a whole playlist for it. I call mine "Super Spoopy Fun Times". You can call yours whatever you please, but you definitely need to have these songs in it.

1. Heads Will Roll - Yeah Yeah Yeah

A female lead singer, a good beat, and a Halloween-y theme. What more can you ask for?

2. The Songs From Hocus Pocus

Now it's nearly impossible to find the actual Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker tracks, so I really enjoy these covers by Traci Hines.

3. The Nightmare Revisited Album

Yes, the whole album. Honestly, it's so good. Basically, they got together a bunch of really cool bands and people to cover the songs from Nightmare Before Christmas. Marilyn Manson does This Is Halloween, All-American Rejects do Jack's Lament, Flyleaf does What's This, Korn covers Kidnap the Sandy Claws, Amy Lee from Evanescence sang Sally's Song, the Plain White T's cover Poor Jack, and more! Above is one of my favorite covers because Boogie is one of my favorite villains.

4. Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell

This song will forever scream Halloween to me. Probably has something to do with the Twilight Zone and Pyscho references....

5. Ghostbusters - Ray Parker Jr.

When have you been at a Halloween party and NOT heard this?

6. Time Warp - Rocky Horror Picture Show

Rocky Horror is a beloved Halloween tradition at Ball State so it's no wonder I associate this song with Halloween.

7. Werewolves of London - Warren Zevon

If you recognize that music, that's because Kid Rock took it for All Summer Long, but Werewolves of London.

8. Witch Doctor - David Seville

So this is actually the guy who created the Chipmunks, but this is just him and his own voice sped up.

9. Disturbia - Rihanna

Not traditionally a Halloween song, but I think it works.

10. Freakshow - Britney Spears

I actually got the idea for this song from a friend's playlist and I think it fits well.

11. Superstition - Stevie Wonder

This song always gives me Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy vibes.

12. Thriller - Michael Jackson

You had to know this was gonna be on here. How could it not be?

13. Witchcraft - Frank Sinatra

A little tame for this playlist, but it's one of my favorites.

14. Monster - Lady Gaga

15. Cannibal - Ke$ha

16. Highway to Hell - AC/DC

17. Monster Mash - Bobby "Boris" Pickett & The Crypt-Kickers

Another Halloween party classic for you.

18. Disney Halloween Medley - Jon Cozart & Voctave

If you're a Disney fan, this is necessary.

19. Evil - Dove Cameron

I know this is from Descendants. I know I'm a child. But this song is so good!

20. Halloween - John Carpenter

I mean, besides being the theme to one of the best known horror movies of all time, it's pretty catchy to listen to if you're trying to get ready.

21. The Twilight Zone Theme

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
