For whatever reason, people tend to not want to stay in one place for too long. We seem to have an innate desire to escape from our daily lives at times in search of something better. The world is an amazingly enormous and beautiful place filled with so many incredible sites and attractions. While many of us will only get to visit a select few of these wonderful destinations, imagining what they might be like is sometimes good enough. The cities, museums, and sites across the world encompass a mere fraction of what our world has to offer.

1. Machu Picchu, Peru

This infamous Incan archaeological site includes elaborate stone structures, agricultural terraces and incredible views that anyone interested in lost cities would enjoy.

2. Prague, Czech Republic

A city filled with beautiful architecture and immersive culture, Prague is a must-visit for sure.

3. Bryce Canyon National Park

The incredible rock formations found in this park emphasize the incredible ability of our world to produce such beauty.

4. Sydney, Australia

From the Opera House to the Harbour Bridge to the beautiful beaches and fabulous restaurants, Sydney truly has it all.

5. Santorini, Greece

The picture really says it all.

6. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC

No explanation necessary. It's the MET, you are cultured, or at least want people to think that you are, so go!

7. The Museum of Modern Art, NYC

If you like art, you'll love it and if you don't, you will learn to.

8. Louvre, Paris

The world's largest museum in a prime location, too obvious.

9. The Shrine of the Book, Israel

Not only is this a beautiful piece of architecture, but it also houses numerous fascinating archaeological finds in the holiest of lands.

10. Vatican City, Italy

A truly historic city housing museums, incredible architecture, oh and the Pope.

11. The British Museum, London

It's FREE!! Plus, super interesting and beautiful.

12. The State Hermitage Museum, Saint Petersburg

This museum houses one of the finest art collections in the world in historic buildings where Russian emperors formerly resided.

13. Marrakech, Morocco

Exploring this city will undoubtedly show you things you've never seen before. From beautiful gardens to historic mosques, the snaking alleyways reveal a world that anyone would be privileged to visit.

14. Petra, Jordan

Deemed by some Jordan's most valuable treasure, Petra is certainly mythical, to say the least.

15. Amsterdam, Netherlands

Besides being super trendy at the moment, Amsterdam is the perfect combination of historic and urban, offering so much to its inhabitants and visitors.

16. Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota

So beautiful and very upsetting because I've only just discovered it.

17. Park City, Utah

Perfect for anyone seeking a little excitement. Snowboarding and skiing are easily accessible, and even for those less-than-athletic folks, the views on this terrain are breathtaking.

18. Dublin, Ireland

SO much going on in this awesome city. There's theater, discovery trails, shopping, and insane nightlife, just to name a few.

19. Washington, D.C.

Maybe not as appealing at the current moment, but still majorly important.

20. Guizhou, China

Picturesque is all I have to say.

21. Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Also super trendy at the moment, this place is magical and top on my list (although bottom on this one, but please don't question it).

I can only hope to be granted the opportunity to travel to some of these places in my lifetime. Wanderlust is real, especially as a young college student ready to start my life. It is something I hope never fades because a fascination with the world around you is so motivational. It inspires me to dream big and work hard to be able to set out on whatever course my life may take, a course that hopefully will intersect with some of these destinations.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
