Coming from New Jersey, you'd probably expect me to roll my eyes every time someone asks if my life is like "Jersey Shore," the trashy MTV show that caught my attention while I was in middle school. You've probably heard that it does not reflect any part of New Jersey accurately. Well, except for Seaside Heights. That town was spooky before they were filming, when they were filming, and will probably remain spooky forever.
It's so easy to hate "Jersey Shore" and all of the antics that came with it. The majority of the cast isn't even from New Jersey, so naturally us New Jersian's would get pissed at how poorly we're being represented. We've spent eight years since it aired defending our reputation that the Situation and Snooki so quickly tainted. Eight years bringing up the same facts to distance ourselves from that show. That's eight years wasted.
"Jersey Shore" is a work of art. A beautiful show that none of us deserve. Instead of bashing the psychotic series, it's time we appreciate it for the classic it really is.
It's 2017 and we still love it all.
1. Pauly and Vinny's bromance.
I hope one day to experience love with a person that they two of them have with each other. We were blessed to watch such a genuine friendship grow from the beginning.
2. Rahn, stahp.
This poor girl went through hell and back on national television. Without her constant tears, we wouldn't still be telling "Rahn's" everywhere to "stahp." Thanks, Sammi.
3. Pauly D's endless catchphrases.
I couldn't just choose one...
4. The best insult against Angelina.
This was the most creative and most impactful insult to come from the show.
5. Tan IS a race.
@summer weather... please help us out with that.
6. WHO WROTE THE NOTE?
Debatably all of the best yet dumbest fights to ever occur in a single show's history. We thrived off it.
7. Every day holds some sort of struggle.
We all think it but Snooki was brave enough to say it.. and get arrested for it.
8. The best relationship to grace our televisions.
I wonder if they miss each other.
9. Life was just... simpler.
Sometimes you got to do what you got to do. It's fine.
10. Every time there's a "Jersey Shore" rerun marathon...
You'll know where to find me.
