The year 2016 is expected to be a huge year for the music industry! It's only a quarter of the way through the year and there have been several huge and successful albums produced. Some of the albums that have been produced in the past three months include: "The Life of Pablo" by Kanye West, "Islah" by Kevin Gates, "This Is Acting" by Sia, "Purple Reign" by Future, and "Anti" by Rihanna! Considering that 2016 is far from over, it is likely that there will be many more groundbreaking albums to come. Several musicians have already verified or hinted at an album being released in the near future. Even though I am positive that there will be many amazing albums, there are a few that I am extremely excited about!
1. "Digital Distortion" - Iggy Azalea
"Digital Distortion" will be Iggy Azalea's sophomore album and it is expected to be released in the very near future. Azalea has confirmed that the album is almost finished and has even released snippets of songs that will be featured such as "Team" and "Azillion." Unfortunately, there is not a confirmed album cover yet. Azalea has also discussed that this album will sound nothing like her debut album. I am proud to label myself an Azalean and I am ecstatic to see what Iggy Azalea has in store with this album!
2. "Views From The 6" - Drake
Drake has become one of the top stars in the rap industry and he is constantly topping the charts with his numerous hits. "Views From The 6" will be Drake's fourth studio album. Even though I may not be the hugest fan, I am really excited to see what this album has in store. "Views From The 6" is almost complete and there are rumors that it is going to drop in April. Drake has released very small clips of featured songs on Vine and it also confirmed that Beyoncé will be featured on his album.
3. "Dangerous Woman" - Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande is currently working on her third album entitled "Dangerous Woman." Originally, this album was intended to be titled "Moonlight." For many months, Grande has been teasing her fans with multiple hints about what is to be expected from her. Recently, she did a Q&A session with her fans, which ultimately provided a lot of information. The release date for this album is March 11th, according to her social media sites. Grande has stated that she will be performing two new songs from her new album on March 12th and March 13th. She also confirmed that there will be fifteen tracks and three collaborations. Towards the end of her chat, Grande also performed a part of one of her future songs, "Be Alright." Ariana Grande recently posted a photo of her in a leather mask and rabbit ears on Instagram. Many speculate that this image is a potential candidate for album art.
4. Lady Gaga
Earlier this year in January, Lady Gaga confirmed at the Golden Globes that she will be releasing an album later this year. This will be the first single album that she has produced since 2013. Other than that there is an album coming up, not much is else known. I am positive that her upcoming album will be very successful and it will be even better than her past albums.
5. Beyoncé
With her latest single, "Formation," and the announcement of her upcoming tour, it is obvious that Beyoncé will be releasing an album at any moment. Many speculate that she will release her album without much notice like she did in 2013 with her last album "Beyoncé." It has been reported that Beyoncé has been working with British model Cara Delevingne on a track. Not only is Beyoncé supposed to release a single album this year, but there are also several rumors that she will collaborate with her husband, Jay Z, once again on a joint album! It seems as if the Queen is back with a lot of new material for her Bey Hive!
