My Family
If you would’ve asked me a year ago today how I expected my outlook on my family to be right now, I never in a million years would’ve predicated this one. This year has been the biggest roller coaster ride for my family and me. Not only was my father diagnosed with cancer, but other health complications have been brought up over this last year with other family members too. Yeah, this year has been a difficult one to overcome but nothing has ever come in the way of breaking the incredible bonds I have with my family. Regardless, they have always been my rock through it all and I am beyond thankful to have every single one of them in my life. To my parents on this thanksgiving holiday, words can’t even begin to describe how thankful I am to have you in my life. You both have continued to be my biggest supporters through it all and I can’t thank you enough for everyone you have done and will continue to do. To my siblings, thanks for never letting go and always being there for me. You guys are the best! To my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., thanks for all you have done in making this the best family to be a part of. I love you all to the moon and back.
My Friends
Life is always better to have people to laugh with, cry with, gossip with and make life-long memories with. I am very thankful to have a great group of individuals to do exactly that with. Between my two best friends back at home as well as my roommate and awesome group of friends I have made at Temple, there is never a dull moment! Whether it is needing someone to adventure with in Philly, study with at school or in need of just someone to talk something out with, I am grateful to always have someone by my side. You guys all are truly the best and I can’t thank you enough for everything. I love you guys!!
My Education
Gaining a college education has always been a huge goal of mine. As much of my time at Temple University has turned out much different than planned, just having the opportunity to gain an education is something that I am incredibly grateful for. One looking to pursue a nursing degree ever since Kindergarten, within a year at Temple, that dream took a 360-degree twist. Now looking to complete my undergraduate in Public Health with a minor in Health Care Management, I then hope to go on to gain my Master’s degree in Epidemiology and complete research as part of my career. This all could not have been possible without the help and influence of some fantastic professors, mentors and tutors that I have come across over the last year and a half at Temple University. They have made my time and experience here that much better and I am so excited to see where the upcoming years of my education takes me!
On a more lighter note, other things that I am very grateful this holiday season are coffee (my true love), ‘Friends’ the TV Show, sneakers, wild Philadelphia roof-top decks and skyline views, country music, Tropical smoothie and a delightful book. As we approach the 2016 Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season don’t forget to squeeze your loved ones a little harder and never forget to overuse ‘I love you’. So, what are you most grateful for??
