To me, there's absolutely nothing better than a good throwback playlist. I've never seen people get as excited as they do at parties than when a great song from the 2000s comes on. The 2000s created some of the best music that our generation has gotten to experience first hand. It brought us some of the best of Britney, Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Usher and many many more artists who are still topping the charts today.
With the help of some of my Twitter followers as well as my memory of every song that played at a middle school sleepover I had, here is the ultimate grew-up-in-the-2000s party playlist you didn't know you needed.
1. Toxic - Britney Spears
Obviously, Queen Britney's "Toxic" was going to make the list. She's going to be on here plenty of times.
2. I Kissed a Girl - Katy Perry
3. Rock Your Body - Justin Timberlake
4. Sexy Can I - Ray J featuring Yung Berg
While this song was definitely not appropriate for a bunch of sixth-grade girls to listen to, I can assure you that my friends and I listened to it at every sleepover we had ever. Sorry, mom.
5. Kiss Me Thru The Phone - Soulja Boy
6. In Da Club - 50 Cent
7. Buy U A Drank - T-Pain
8. Hollaback Girl - Gwen Stefani
I'm convinced that there is no one who cannot get hyped when they hear this song come on.
9. Yeah! - Usher
10. Unwritten - Natasha Bedingfield
11. Lip Gloss - Lil Mama
12. Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson
13. Hips Don't Lie - Shakira
There's no way in hell I'm not dancing when I hear this song come on.
14. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At The Disco
15. DON'T TRUST ME - 3OH!3
16. Down - Jay Sean
17. Fire Burning - Sean Kingston
18. Fergalicious - Fergie
19. Sk8er Boi - Avril Lavigne
20. Mr. Brightside - The Killers
Can you really have a 2000s playlist without this gem of a song?
