I Did These 20 Things Instead of Writing My Odyssey Article

If my middle name wasn't Rachelle, it would definitely be Procrastination.

If my middle name wasn't Rachelle, it would certainly be Procrastination. Procrastinating is an art I have come to master and I'm not ashamed of it in the least. While I usually think of my Odyssey articles up well ahead of time, this week my ideas have been slacking. So I thought I would write about the other things I did this week instead of writing my article.

1. I rewrote the draft title of my article fifteen different times.

2. I played laser tag with my cat.

3. On Tuesday night, I went to Applebee's with my friends and ate half-priced apps.

4. I did my homework (woah.)

5. For an hour and a half, I played with my makeup.

6. I took a quiz that calculated my life expectancy. Apparently, I'm living until I'm 89.

7. On Sunday, I watched Black Panther, which is a pretty amazing movie!

8. I absolutely had to do my laundry so that is what I did on Saturday evening.

9. I Instagram stalked three different corgi accounts.

10. I took approximately 13 naps throughout the week.

11. I Googled weird things for an hour.

12. On Friday, I took my choir folder out and practiced my music.

13. I gave myself a pedicure.

14. My Spotify account played a bunch of hits, so I danced around my kitchen.

15. I belted to Taylor Swift at least thirteen times.

16. I found my cute, reusable water bottle buried deep in my backpack.

17. My best friend and I played Jeopardy with Alexa and lost.

18. I thought of five different article ideas before settling for this one.

19. I learned how to make grilled cheese in the oven.

20. I planned my dream home on my Pinterest account.

As you can see, my week has been incredibly busy and productive. I probably should have written my article three days before the due date instead of three hours before, but that's why life is full of lessons! Catch me here again next week with a better planned article!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
