We do a lot of things without thinking about them, and we ignore a lot of things. By definition, everyday life is something that we get used to, and we often don't think about things that we are used to. But taking a step back and looking at "normal" parts of life from a different perspective can make you take a moment to think, "Huh. That is a little bit silly," and then maybe chuckle a bit.
And today, I have taken it upon myself to try to make you do exactly that! Here are a few examples of everyday strangeness that might make you laugh or question your life a little bit.
1. Getting drunk is basically just borrowing happiness from tomorrow.
2. Eyebrows are weird. Why do we grow lines of hair across our faces?
3. Sleep is like a time machine to breakfast.
4. We say that "great minds think alike," but we value great minds for doing the opposite.
5. Lifting weights at the gym is basically going to a special building to pick things up and put them back down again repeatedly, as my brother Michael pointed out.
6. Trying to get rich by playing the lottery is like trying to commit suicide by flying on commercial airplanes, considering that your chances of both are less than one in 10 million.
7. "Squidward Tentacles" is a very strange name, since it would be like if you had the name "Humanward Arms."
8. On that subject, names are weird. Asking for someone's name is like saying "What sounds should I make to get your attention?"
9. Mustaches are mouthbrows, and eyebrows are eyestaches.
10. Raindrops are pieces of clouds that fell because they weren't good enough to stay clouds.
11. Fingers are the hands of your hands, which are the fingers of your arms.
12. If I were to rename my cat "Meow," he would basically be a Pokemon who knows "Bite" and "Scratch."
13. Sleep is a 33% tax on living.
14. We have eyelashes to prevent things from getting stuck in our eyes, but eyelashes are usually the things that get stuck in our eyes.
15. Ice cubes are hardcore - they float around in their own blood.
16. Why do we never see baby pigeons?
17. Having a shadow when you are outside is proof that light travelled 93 million miles from the sun only to be stopped by you in the last few feet before it could reach the ground.
18. Whenever you eat a lollipop, you are eating your own flavored saliva.
19. Does it matter to kill mosquitos? As Tumblr user lapfoxs said with eloquent use of Caps Lock,
A MOSQUITO TRIED TO BITE ME AND I SLAPPED IT AND KILLED IT AND I STARTED THINKING LIKE IT WAS JUST TRYING TO GET FOOD WHAT IF I WENT TO THE FRIDGE AND IT JUST SLAMMED THE DOOR SHUT AND SNAPPED MY NECK HOW WOULD I FEEL
And finally,
20. This pen will never know what a bagel tastes like.
