If you live or work in DC, chances are you've had to ride the Metro and chances are it's not always the best experience. While the Metro can be great at getting where you need to go, there are sometimes where you just want to scream. It might be single-tracking, or extra busy, or maybe the air conditioning isn't working and it's unbearably hot. At the end of the day though, we need the metro to get places quickly and fairly inexpensively. These are some of the thoughts I have during my hour-long Metro commute to work.

1. Why are the escalators so damn long? And why are they not working… again?

2. Wow it’s pretty empty in this station.

3. Oh, it’s because the Red Line is single tracking and I just missed a train. Next one comes in 20 minutes!

4. Tourists move so slow.

5. Why do people act so strange in the metro station?

6. There’s no need to pretend to push your friends or your children into the track.

7. Also why are you FaceTime-ing in the metro station?

8. Awesome here’s the train!

9. Please be a new one. Please be a new one. Please be a new one.

10. And it’s an old one.

11. Alright, lots of people on this train but I see an open seat!

12. Why are ten people standing in front of an open seat? Either sit or move!

13. Please don’t catch on fire. Please don’t catch on fire. Please don’t catch on fire.

14. Please don’t sit next to me.

15. Made it through the first leg of my trip with no problems! Time to transfer at Metro Center!

16. Oh my God that’s a lot of people.

17. STAND ON THE LEFT, WALK ON THE RIGHT.

18. I’m going to miss this train because Linda, Steve and their family don’t know where they’re going.

19. Aw look at the cute kids… Who are now swinging from the holding bars! Oh my gosh someone sit these children down.

20. Made it safe and sound. Thanks, DC Metro for always at least trying to be there for me (sometimes).

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
