20 Things You have definitely said to your roommate at some point in time

Roommates... they can either be your best friend or one of those people you will stop associating with after your first year. However, whichever scenario may be yours; you are promised to come out with a story or two. This past year, I had a few laughs. My roommate and I did almost everything together, and these were just a few of the things we constantly found ourselves saying or asking one another.

1. "I know you just ate, but will you please get food with me?"

This is a constant. I can't tell you how many times I dragged my roommate and suite-mates along.

2. "Should I skip my 8 AM?"

Probably not.

3. "Have you seen my key? If not, can you crack the door?"

I put my roommates through hell with my personal lack of responsibility over my items.

4. "Should I Instagram this or not?"

I mean seriously, what else are roommates good for?

5. "Thanks for taking my makeup off last night and changing me."

Question above answered. If you are lucky, you get a roommate that steps in as a motherly figure when yours is miles away.

6. "Should I just text him?"

Chances are they'll say yes. And if you're anything like me, you still won't text him.

7. "Do I look like a complete boy?"

The answer to this question used to determine whether I shower or not.

8. "Ok... our loose hair is covering what used to be known as the sink."

Never knew how much hair I had... until it wasn't on my head.

9. "Can I borrow _______?"

Doesn't matter what it may be, but you inevitably borrow each others' things constantly.

10. "It's fine, just Venmo me."

Venmo... a college student's best friend.

11. "I have like 4 cents in my bank account, but man I could go for some real food."

This may seem like a stretch, but nope. These words actually came out of my mouth one Sunday afternoon.

12. "After this nap... we are cleaning the room and taking all the garbage out."

Wishful thinking...

13. "You'll never believe who just liked my picture!"

Probably the cute kid in your math class.

14. "Do you have an extra makeup wipe? I ran out last night."

Makeup wipes? God's gift to females.

15. "I saw ______ at the dining hall today. I am in love."

Again, probably the cute kid in your math class.

16. "Let's put up a Snapchat story. We look decent."

Hey, I put on makeup tonight. I'll be damned if someone's not going to see this historical moment.

17. "If you help me finish my homework, I will go out."

It's a slippery slope.

18. "We have to pick up toilet paper... like today."

This is self-explanatory, but sheesh the minute you start running low... make that trip.

19. "I really can't go out tonight." *moments later* "Ok what should I wear out?"

You'll end up out. Every single time.

20. "I hate Sunday's."

We all do. The whole "I'll do it Sunday" mentality is convenient until Sunday rolls around.

College is many things, and it would not be the same without a freshman year roommate. From the minute we started messaging one another on Facebook to the minute we were moving out of our dorm; we have laughed, cried, and said all of these things way more than once. The best part of college we learned is that everyone around you is going through the same thing.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
