1. You’re sick of hearing people say “it’s a dry heat”

Hot is hot.

2. You’re already looking forward to monsoon season

And your friends from other states don’t even know what that means.

3. Your “pool” feels more like a giant hot tub

But you still can’t wait to jump in.

4. You get excited when it’s only 105 degrees

Somehow, it’s actually bearable.

5. The seatbelt buckle in your car can be deadly

We’ve all touched it. Big mistake.

6. Your phone has overheated many, many times

It doesn’t even phase you anymore.

7. You’ll drive to the farthest spot in the parking lot just to get shade

It’s totally worth the walk.

8. You still need to carry a sweater because every building you walk into is kept below 60 degrees

You’re used to it by now.

9. People joke about how you can fry an egg or bake cookies on the sidewalk…but you really can

And you’ve probably tried it out.

10. A “breeze” is equivalent to the feeling you get when you open the oven and all the heat escapes at once

There’s no better way to describe it.

11. Sitting outside for 5 minutes makes you sweat more than an hour in the gym does

Taking 3 showers a day is not uncommon.

12. You often question whether this heat is even legal

Is it though?

13. You know it’s one of the hottest days when the overnight low is still in the 90’s

You can walk outside at 2 AM and you’ll still sweat.

14. You ask yourself why you got black leather inside your car

Worst. Decision. Ever.

15. You get severe burns every time you sit in your car with shorts on

By now, you’re used to putting a towel on your seat before getting in.

16. Bathing in sunscreen before leaving the house in a requirement

You can get sunburned after being outside for 5 minutes.

17. Drive-thrus are the best invention. Period.

Who wants to get out of the car when it's over 100 degrees?!

18. You can never drink enough water

Dehydration is very common.

19. There’s no point in wearing makeup—it all melts off anyway

Don’t wear it and look sweaty, or wear it and watch it melt off. It’s a lose-lose situation.

20. You constantly ask yourself why you live in Arizona

In the end, the beautiful sunsets, air conditioning and weather in every other season make it all worth it. No matter how hot it gets, we love our state.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
