We all have those friends (or are those friends) who take humor to the next level. Many times, you know you’re that friend who is known for consistently poking fun and mocking others. How can we help it? Sarcasm just seems to lighten even the heaviest of conversations. Here are 21 signs extreme sarcasm is your forte and basically its own language, in your book.
1. You've insulted even your thickest-skinned friends.
2. You catch yourself apologizing immediately after saying some overly harsh comments.
3. You get the judgmental glare from strangers that don't understand your humor.
4. You've been called sassy by your friends...many times.
5. You've been called sassy by complete strangers.
6. Awkward situations just breed and heighten the intensity and quantity of your sarcasm.
7. You have certain people that bring out the inevitably bitter side of you.
8. Your friend once placed a bet to see how long you could have a civil, non-sardonic conversation with said person.
9. That conversation lasted five minutes.
10. Harsh comments just fly out of your mouth almost involuntarily.
11. You’ve caught yourself saying “I don’t actually know if I’m joking or not” before.
12. Friends have told you when they first met you they thought you were a complete b*itch... until they realized you were joking.
13. When you find new people who appreciate and reciprocate your level of sarcasm, you feel as if you’ve met your new best friend.
14. Chandler Bing is, and probably will always be, your favorite TV character of all time.
15. When you’re in a conversation that you know is too polite to be sprinkled with caustic comments, you feel like you don’t belong.
16. Sometimes conversations don’t call for mockery, yet you throw some remark out there just because.
17. You don’t understand how people get insulted so easily.
18. You get way too excited when people are capable of responding to your sarcasm with even better sarcasm.
19. You don't flirt -- you just mock and insult. Many times guys are completely caught off guard while you (somewhat) forget about them and laugh at that clever joke you just harshly uttered.
20. You don't utilize various defense mechanisms because you have the power of your cutting words.
21. Sometimes you can't even express gratitude without seeming obnoxious. Thank you, please, sorry -- your friends assume it's not sincere.
