Everyone has a hometown, some are proud of their hometowns, while others are not. Many may not like the environment of their hometown, while others do. Chattanooga offers many differ types of environments and will always leave you with that Best Town feeling!

You know you're from Chattanooga if...

1. Constantly thinking about what state you are in, when you're on the southside of Chattanooga.

Where are we? Tennessee? Georgia? Alabama?

2. Nikki's Drive Inn

Go have a delicious burger with a side of onion rings and homemade sweet tea!

3. Being Outdoorsy

Kayaking. Hiking. Rafting. Boating on the Tennessee River. Mountain biking. Fishing. Hammocking. Just anything just to be outside!

4. The Ridgecut

You know what The Ridgecut is and what times to avoid it. Early morning rush hour? Parking lot. After school traffic? Parking lot. In the rain? Parking lot.

5. Riverfront

Who doesn't know about the Riverfront? Who doesn't want to go for walks on the Riverfront, or go out to eat at Blue Plate to enjoy the atmosphere, spend dates on the pier, or anticipating the crowds of Riverbend coming back in a few short months!

6. Riverbend

Live music. Big crowds. June summer heat waves. Carnival food and rides. It's a once in a lifetime experience to see some of the Chattanooga finest out and about. But, we can go ahead and start anxiously awaiting the lineup for this summer!

7. Cardboard Sledding

If you talk about cardboard sledding to anyone who is not from Chattanooga, they might look at you a little crazy. We all grew up going to the Riverfront or Renissance Park and cardboard sledding down the big hills and having an absolute blast.

8. Rock City

Tourist know Chattanooga for many reasons and Rock City being one of those because you can see seven states or just because of the birdhouses. It's always good when you're traveling back home to Chattanooga and you start seeing the "See Rock City" birdhouse billboards because you're that much closer to home.

9. The Chattanooga Choo Choo

"Pardon me boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo? Track twenty nine, boy you can gimme a shine. I can afford to board a Chattanooga Choo Choo. I've got my fare and just a trifle to spare." - Glenn Miller, "Chattanooga Choo Choo"

10. Coolidge Park

Full of animal water fountains, the Renaissance, sidewalks along the Tennessee River, and neighboring North Shore with shopping and delicious places to grab a bite to eat! Taco Mamacita anyone?

11. Construction

Will they ever be done with the construction on Highway TN-27? Probably not.

12. Pronunciations

Chattanooga itself is hard for many people to pronounce. Not to mention when we start talking about the carousel Bridge, or taking a trip down to Fort Oglethorpe.

13. Home of the Mocs

Even if you don't go to UTC, you still bleed blue and gold with the Mocs. And, yes, they aren't shoes. Scrappy is a mockingbird.

14. Parkway Towers

Going to games at Finley Stadium or spending an afternoon at the Chattanooga Market at the First Tennessee Pavilionm, you always see Parkway Towers. It's such an eye sore, but you can't help but wonder what in the world they are ever going to do what that building.

15. The Chattanooga Market

Homemade crafts. Locally grown foods and plants. Live music. It's a good environment to go spend a Sunday afternoon downtown after church.

16. Moon Pies & RC Cola

Thank the Lord Moon Pies exist and that they were created in our sweet hometown, with the perfect pair of an RC Cola.

17. US 101

The only country music station in town.

18. The Walking Bridge

Enough Said. Find another town with such a beautiful piece of architecture, and a bridge just dedicated for walking across a river!

19. Pavilion Strong

July 16th will never be the same. Chattanooga is a city that stands together, and we are Nooga Strong!

20. Chattanooga, you will always be home sweet home to me!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
