If it weren't for my broadcasting class in community college, I would have never known of the existence of "2 Broke Girls." From there, I received the opportunity to go to a taping of the fourth episode of the show at the Warner Brothers studio in Burbank, California. Since then, I instantly declared myself a fan of the show and never missed an episode. I also discovered just how much work it takes to make a 20 minute show.
Kat Dennings, who plays Max Black on the show, posted on her Instagram account that the show was cancelled. In that moment, I immediately felt my heart drop. After six seasons on the air, my favorite show is finally gonna come to an end.
It goes to show that even all good things must come to an end at some point! However, I guess the reason why I’m more disappointed is the fact that I didn't know the last episode I saw would be the last one. If I would have been aware that that was the last season, I would have enjoyed the show so much more than what I already did.
The last episode left me wanting more and I'm sure many fans felt the same exact way. I wanted to see Max’s wedding with Randy and wanted to see how the drama between Max’s and Caroline’s boyfriend was going to unfold. Now, I won't ever know what could have been.
The show was dead on its comedy. Even though the jokes were sometimes offensive or dirty, it was a guarantee to get a good laugh from the audience. Personally, I've never found myself offended by any of the jokes because at the end of the day, it was just a show. I know they do not truly mean anything harmful.
The show was about, obviously, two broke girls, who were pursuing the dream of opening a successful cupcake shop. Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) lost all of her wealth after her father was involved in a financial scheme. She was forced to get a job at a Williamsburg’s diner and that’s where she met Max and the other characters of the show.
The two had very different personalities. Max had the "blackest" and most sarcastic humor while Caroline was sassy and always positive. In the end, they successfully opened a cupcake bar and their friendship beat the odds of everything. From 2 Chainz to Martha Stewart, to Caroline's candy Andy, to her Bobby and from Max's Deke to Randy, I will greatly miss this show.
