1D Takes On MetLife Stadium

It was better than I imagined.

One Direction is arguably one of the, if not the most popular band in the world right now. They have been going strong for the past five years, despite all the drama that has been going on this year. Some of that drama includes their fifth band member, Zayn Malik, leaving in the middle of their tour (I'm still not over this), the Naughty Boy Louis vs. Zayn throw down, and their other current band member Louis Tomlinson apparently having a baby that is not with his ex-girlfriend of five years.

And while all of that may be enough for a band to slow down or call it quits, One Direction could not be more in their element, which was completely evident at their concert on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at MetLife Stadium.

I became a fan of theirs last year after attending their first concert ever at MetLife Stadium, and it has changed my life for the better. Maybe slightly obsessed is a better way to describe it. And a part of the reason I was such a huge fan was because of Zayn. When he left, I was in my college's cafeteria crying. A lot. I'm not even kidding. I have pictures, but I'm just going to spare myself from the embarrassment.

So in going to this concert, I was pretty doubtful because I believed Zayn had the best voice. But this concert was more than I could have ever imagined. It was even better than the first one I saw when Zayn was present last year.

So, let's go through the highlights of this AMAZING concert:

When they came out to their opening song-Clouds

This was the perfect song for them to open up to as it set the tone for the rest of the night. The fireworks added a special touch and the fans (me included) did not stop screaming from that point on.

Harry spitting and throwing water on his fans (*swoons*)

"Watching Harry spit water and touch his hair makes me want to be a better person," Rob Sheffield, Rolling Stone. (Rob, you took the words right out of my mouth.)

Liam goofing around with Louis

If you attended the concert, you could pretty much pick up that Louis was not in a good mood. Maybe because of the baby coming along, maybe because his ex-girlfriend Eleanor sent him a text, but Liam was comforting Louis throughout the night. Can Liam be my best friend?

Niall's famous crotch grab during "Better Than Words"

O.M.G.

When they performed "Drag Me Down."

This performance put all the fans over the edge because it showed that even with Zayn gone they are going full-speed ahead with nothing dragging them down.

Liam falling down during Harry's solo in" What Makes You Beautiful"

Louis and Niall laughing at him made it that much better.

These dedicated dads at the concert

They're the real MVPs.

Overall, it seems like these four have become closer than ever since Zayn's departure. Throughout the night they continually thanked us for all the support, especially recently, as they were truly humbled by their fans outpouring, endless love. These guys put on a concert that was engaging, endearing and utterly fantastic, and I am proud to call myself a One Direction fan.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
