19 Things That Sisters Who Share A Room Know Too Well

Your sister is the only person that has been by your side through everything. She was there when you learned how to ride a bike and she was there when you fell off your bike. She was there when you got ready for your first date and she was there when you had your first heartbreak. A sister is the most amazing thing a person can have. No matter what, you know that you have a friend. You know you always have someone on your side, even if you’re wrong. When you and your sister are together everything is better. And if you and your sister share a room there are a few things that you know too well.

1. You have two wardrobes to choose from.

“Is that my shirt?” If you can’t find anything to wear in your closet just raid your sister's!

2. You constantly argue about whose turn it is to turn the light off at night.

“Turn the light off.” “No, you’re closer.” This is probably one of the things you fight about the most. You’ve even slept with the light on several times because you’re both too stubborn to give in.

3. You have a free maid.

You’re constantly asking your sister to get you something to eat or hand you something.

4. You stay up all night laughing.

When you were little your parents threatened to separate you if you didn’t stop laughing.

5. You’re constantly fighting.

You fight about the stupidest things but you never have to apologize because you eventually forget why you were arguing in the first place.

6. You gossip about everything.

The bedroom of sisters is where you will hear the most gossipy gossip you will ever hear.

7. You always have someone to tell how your day went.

When you come home at the end of the day you tell your sister everything that happened and she listens to it all. Or she’s really good at pretending like she’s listening.

8. You feel homesick when your sister is away.

When your sister spends the night with a friend for the first time or when she leave for a camp, you feel so lost you don’t know what to do.

9. You’re best friends forever.

She’s the one who always has your back. She’s the one that tells you what you really need to hear. And she’s the only one that can get away with making fun of you.

10. You’re constantly rearranging the furniture.

You are always moving the dressers and beds to make the room feel new.

11. You have a person to tell you the absolute truth.

Your sister knows you will still love her even if she says your shirt is hideous.

12. You ask her how to respond to text messages.

She’ll tell you if you’re overthinking the situation of if you’re on the right track.

13. People tell you that you act just alike.

Everywhere you go people comment on how alike you are.

14. They know everything about you.

“Hey where did I put that thing?” They know exactly what thing you’re talking about and exactly where you left it.

15. You get freaked out when you say the same thing at the same time.

At least once a day you say the same thing at the same time.

16. Your room is always a mess.

There are two girls living in one room. What do you expect?

17. You do things so weirdly that you comment to each other about how you are that no one was watching.

You break into random duets and dance like crazy people.

18. You gang up on people.

Pretty much everyone knows not to mess with you when you’re together. If someone does happen to mess with you, they don't stand a chance.

19. You’re practically each other’s mother.

You let each other know when the other is acting like a brat and you tell each other when their shorts are just too short. But it’s much more than that. You know what it feels like to love someone with all your heart. When your sister is sad, you’re sad. When your sister laughs, you laugh.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
