1. High School is not the peak of your existence.

It may seem like it at the time, but I promise, it’s not.

2. There will always be someone who is smarter than you.

This doesn’t mean that you aren’t intelligent.

3. Doing something you love everyday makes you a much happier person.

Especially on the stressful days, taking 20 minutes to do something you enjoy can make a world of difference.

4. You shouldn’t ever be afraid to speak your mind.

It can be really hard, but do it.

5. College is hard.

This is no secret but I can tell you from experience, it is very true.

6. It’s okay to be proud of yourself.

Actually it is more than okay. It’s great.

7. Karma is most definitely real.

Treat others the way you would like to be treated.

8. Don’t take being at home for granted.

Your parents, dogs, and free food will be gone as soon as break is over.

9. Sleep is very important.

Very, very, very important.

10. And so is listening to your body.

Also very, very important.

11. Other people’s perspectives are fascinating.

Even if you don’t agree, always be able to listen.

12. Spend money on experiences.

The memories you will make will be priceless.

13. Don’t forget to treat yourself once in a while.

As Tom and Donna from Parks and Rec say best… “Treat yo self!”

14. A bad day is not a bad life.

This can be hard to remember on the really hard days but it couldn’t be more true.

15. Don’t stress about things that are out of your control.

Nobody is an expert at this but reminding yourself that there are just some things you can’t control can be comforting.

16. Be yourself and you will attract the people the people you need in your life.

Being yourself is way easier than being who you think people want you to be, not to mention, a lot more fun.

17. Life is about balance.

Some days you eat really healthy and are really social. Some days you aren’t, that’s okay.

18. Laughing at yourself is key.

Taking yourself too seriously is tiring and won’t get you very far.

19. Life is tough, but so are you.

Amen!

StableDiffusion

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
