We all do it. There's no denying that homework, projects, and papers can be tough to start. Heck, I even am procrastinating on writing this article- as of now it's 11:01, this is the time where most students start heading to bed or watching Netflix before bed. This is also the time when many procrastinators, like you, start working on homework or finally get bored of cycling through social media and realize it's time to start on the daunting task ahead. These assignments have to be done, yet they're incredibly hard to start so here are some ways my friends and I like to procrastinate.

1. Netflix, Netflix, and More Netflix

There's always new shows and movies being added and so what if you've already watched Grey's Anatomyfrom start to finish, now is as good time as any to re-watch all 12 seasons.

2. Social Time is All the Time

Your friends are good at distracting you and you always need to catch up on the latest gossip.

3. Texting

Suddenly there are multiple people who you haven't spoken to in awhile that you need to talk to.

4.Social Media

Snapchat and Instagram are way more interesting than a research paper.

5. Eating or Snacking

Going to the cafeteria to eat is always a good time and you can't start homework on an empty stomach.

6.Sleeping and Taking Naps

Once you've eaten your fill you become in a food coma and the only way out is to sleep, so go ahead you've earned it.

7. Shopping

Whether it's actually going to the mall or online you deserve something special, so in the words of Parks and Recreation, "treat yo' self".

8. Visiting the Puppies on Campus

Whenever I need a pick-me-up I always find a little dosage of puppies can cure even the strongest spring-fevers.

9. People Watching

It may sound weird, but it's a hobby of mine and I know you do it too.

10. Going on Adventures

Why not head to the local hiking trails and get lost?

11. Listening to Music

This could distract me for hours, YouTube has done something right.

12. Playing Any Sort of Games

Board games are not only fun, but also easy to do in a dorm room.

13. Playing Video Games

There are so many different games to choose from and they're all so addicting.

14. Participating in Sports

Go for a jog or even join Frisbee Golf, do anything and go out and enjoy the fresh air.

15. Reading

"If you don't like to read, you haven't found the right book" J.K. Rowling

16. Doing Your Laundry

When you haven't done your laundry in several weeks and you think now is as good time as any.

17. Cleaning Your Dorm Room or Apartment

Suddenly everything looks so dirty and you just have to clean it now or you will be too distracted by it to even think about doing your homework.

18. Meeting New Friends

You see a new person in the halls and decide that another friend can't hurt.

I'm not saying to do your homework until the last minute, but I find these to be very helpful when you need a "study" break.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
