18 Things I Would Like To Thank My First Dog For

You are my first doggie. Although I'm not your biological mother you are my first son. The twinkle in my eye. I love everything about you. I even love the way you make me mad. Your innocence and enthusiasm will take you far my love and I'm so happy you are mine. Thank you for being who you are. If I made a list of EVRYTHING I loved about you Santa wouldn't have time to check it but once. So, here are a few things I would love to thank you for that I'm reminded of daily.

1. Thank you for following me around all the time and seeking interest in my personal life. Even if my personal life is making chicken for dad and catching up on the 'Real Housewives of New York City'.

2. Thank you for wagging your tail uncontrollably when you hear the sound of my voice. The higher the pitch the faster the wag. Sometimes you smile at me and that makes me really happy too.

3. Thank you for my snoogles. Even when you plop on top of me for them and dig your arm in my quad.

4. Thank you for not judging me on my opinion. People want to judge others so much these days I love looking to you for your endless affection. Even when I lay on top of you and you run away. You always come back.

5. Thank you for being nice to my friends doggies. This makes me look like I actually train you when I really just give you carrots and belly rubs. It's hard to be upset when you have a good life.

6. Thank you for looking so cute when you sleep. Snapchat and my unfinished homework thank you.

7. Thank you for not eating your poop. I have found that happens with other dogs and I'm so thankful your wet kisses aren't accompanied with a side of meadow muffin.

8. Thank you for always barking at the door when you hear something suspicious. Safety first, shortly followed by mom yelling "QUIET". You know the drill.

9. Thank you for always being so sweet. Your warm cuddles on a bad day or even your sweet look when I'm upset can turn my day around.

10. Thank you for being so photogenic. Again Snapchat thanks you.

11. Thank you for not chewing up my furniture. Knock on wood. I really like sitting on my current couch right now.

12. Thank you for always keeping me on my toes. Pulling paper towels or woodchips out of your buttocks may be a little odd but I still love you.

13. Thank you for teaching me responsibility. Who ever knew that you would have to go to the bathroom 5+ times a day and without having opposable thumbs you rely on momzilla for potty time.

14. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for listening to my backlash and always forgiving me. Friends come and go but you will always be with me in my heart and I yours.

15. Thank you for always loving me. Even when I overreact you still always find the room in your heart to forgive me immediately and sooth my soul. You are my puppy-son and I can't imagine never getting the chance to meet you.

16. Thank you for all the happiness you have brought me. You make me laugh every day with your goofy attitude and weird quirks. You are so cute.

17. Thank you for the endless memories I can tell everyone about. Everyone loves to hear about you.

18. Thank you for everything you have taught me. Thank you for all the things you will teach me. You are the best dog I could ask for and I'm so blessed to call you mine.

I will love you forever. I'll love you for always. My first doggie you will always be. Thank you for being everything you are and more than what I could ask for.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
