1. It takes you no more than five minutes to get to class...on the opposite side of campus.

2. You refer to the freshmen dorm building as the "Dirty Don."

3. You still try to talk the freshmen into believing there is a pool/bowling alley/tennis court in the basement of the freshmen building.

4. You play a sport and if you don't, then you're probably a music, art or fire science student.

5. You know everyone by name, even if you've never met them before.

6. Geese.

7. You don't worry about classes filling up (unless you're a nursing student) because there are probably not enough people to take all of the seats.

8. Some classes have two people in them, others 20, but never more than 30.

9. Our sports teams are our version of fraternities and sororities and usually throw the best parties.

10. You've sat on AMCAT Field, looking at the stars.

11. There are only a handful of running routes off campus, so it gets old pretty fast.

12. You know the best times to go to the gym are either early in the morning or extremely late at night, but don't you dare go before or after dinner.

13. You've gotten stuck in the gym while football was lifting and were terrified for your life when they started doing their synchronized ab workout.

14. You often get asked, but never want to explain, what exactly an AMCAT is.

15. You know the best events on campus like the Highlighter Party, Multicultural Showcase, AMC's Got Talent, Spring Weekend and the Stress Less Fair.

16. Sometimes you ask yourself why you decided on such a small college.

17. Sometimes you're thankful you decided on such a small college.

18. Even on the bad days, you're thankful for the friends you have made, the experiences you have had and wouldn't have it any other way.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
