Public high school is either the best four years of your life, or a nightmare. However it was for you, you can probably relate to these signs that you went to a public high school.

1. You knew that "substitute teacher" and "movie day" were synonyms.

2. Prom was a slightly watered down version of a club.

3. Friday night football was everything.

4. When it wasn't football season, sports were almost non-existent.

5. Every election like student body president and homecoming court were all popularity contests.

6. You and your squad had a table at lunch that nobody else could sit at.

7. When you hear the words "field trip" you get with your friends and.

8. Taking the SAT for the first time was the worst day ever and after it, you're just like...

9. Senior skip day was the best day of your senior year, besides graduation of course.

10. But if we're honest, every day was senior skip day.

11. But speaking of graduation, that was the best day ever.

12. Although, it was a little sad because you saw the people you grew up with walk across the stage and start the rest of their lives.

13. You had a favorite teacher. And they were considered your favorite because they didn't care if you skipped and gave you A's just for showing up.

15. Most people who went to your school were actual trash.

16. The bathrooms and sometimes hallways always smelt like weed.

17. You got in trouble at least once a week for dishonoring the dress code.

18. You thought your boyfriend/girlfriend was the love of your life.

19. And when you broke up, everyone knew in about an hour.

20. But through all of this, you wouldn't have wanted to change anything because it's made you who you are today.
