17 Things I Want To Thank My Little Sister For

To my little sister, the first person to teach me to be selfless, you have taught me so much in the time you have been in my life. I will never be able to completely thank you for what all you have done for me, but this is a start.

1. Thank you for being my first fan.

2. Thank you for looking up to me, you give me a reason to keep going.

3. Thank you for calling me out when I need it.

4. Thank you for not telling Mom and Dad that time I hit you really hard but totally didn’t mean it.

5. Thank you for doing the dishes when it was my turn but I forgot.

6. Thank you for always being right across the hall.

7. Thank you for answering my calls when I’m gone and you’re not across the hall.

8. Thank you for always getting me the funniest birthday cards.

They're my favorite, they seem to get better every year.

9. Thank you for being the funniest person I know, seriously, you’re hilarious.

10. Thank you for comforting me even when I don’t realize I need comforting.

11. Thank you for keeping my secrets.

12. Thank you for trusting me with your secrets.

13. Thank you for listening to me gripe about Mom and Dad.

Because sometimes you just need to let it out.

14. Thank you for sharing my obsession with One Direction with.

1D forever.

15. Thank you for letting me sleep in your bed with you.

16. Thank you for being my forever friend.

17. Thank you for being you.

Keep growing into the strong, independent woman you are. I will forever be your number one supporter and no matter how big you get you will always and forever be my little sister. Thank you for everything you do, whether you realize it or not.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
