Some people enjoy dogs. Some love cats. Some people own reptiles and probably also listen to death metal while playing video games. There are even some people who enjoy sea mammals so much that they actually purchase and proudly wear those cheap beaded dolphin necklaces found in Florida gas stations (me in fourth grade). But it takes a special person to be a horse girl. After being friends with a couple of horse girls in my life, I think I can accurately identify a horse girl when I see one. If you lie awake at night, staring at your horse calendar, wondering whether or not you are indeed a horse girl, here are a few questions you may want to ask yourself:
Have you ever owned a horse calendar?
Do you own shirts like this?
"Oh my god."
Is your favorite movie "Flicka"?
Have you willingly seen all the "Flicka" movies?
There are so many!!!
Now that you're away from home and in college, do you get mad when your mom calls you and mentions the neighbor's little girl was playing with your horse dolls?
"Those are collectibles!"
Do you own cowgirl boots?

Have you ever invited your friend over and forced them to pretend to be a horse?
"Today, we are going to play horses. I am Brownie and you will be Blackie." I have personally been victimized by this.
Have you ever considered a career in horse whispering?
Maybe you should change your major.
Do you sometimes feel the need to run on all fours?
This is actually really impressive.
Do you hide a horse shrine in your closet?

Were you especially mad at the girl in "Toy Story 2" who got rid of all her cowgirl things while the saddest song ever played
Sarah MacLachlan does it again.
Have you ever had a horse themed birthday?
Complete with pony rides AND horse shaped cookies.
Do you use horse shampoo?
No joke, this stuff is actually the bomb.
Do you have cute old pictures like this?
You may have also been homeschooled ...
Are you really good at making horse sounds?
I just don't know how this guy does it.
Have you ever edited your deepest thoughts and innermost feelings onto special pictures of you and your horse?
Do you even own a horse?
You would think this would be the most important question. Unfortunately, many horse girls don't own horses or even take lessons . . . they just like them I guess . . .
Just like the crazy cat lady thing, I think there are many different cliches for many different animal lovers. With horse girls, it's no different. If you answered yes to more than half of these questions, chances are you are probably a horse girl.
SO SAD.
