America’s Got Talent is an integral part of summer for many families. It is a fun show that brings people together, changes lives, and awards a one million dollar prize to the winner. Each year there is an abundance of talent that competes for the grand prize, but this year one act reigns supreme above all others - Tape Face - and he should win it all.
1. He does not talk
His mysterious presence is not only intriguing but is also a refreshing change from the usual sob story and sadness that contestants almost always have on America's Got Talent. There is no way to feel empathy because we have no idea who he is or what he stands for, and as Simon Cowell always says, we never want to know.
2. He is original
The originality of America’s Got Talent acts have sadly decreased throughout the years, and at any given time it feels like the show is overwhelmed by singing, dancing and comedy acts. Tape Face’s variety act is perfect for the AGT stage, because there is no other show in the world he could compete on and singing acts only get so boring after a while.
3. The music he chooses is "spot on"
Tape Face is a throwing it back with classics from the 1980’s and revamping them in the most cool and unusual ways. “Free Falling” and “Lady In Red” are classics and not only did he introduce them to a new generation but with his music selection he can appeal to old and new audiences alike.
4. He makes regular items cool
Because normally it would be considered weird to wear tape on your face but now? It is nothing short of a fashion statement. Not just tape however, Tape Face makes everything he touches turn into something magical, because oven mitts, envelopes, and toothbrushes will never be the same.
5. He is a true entertainer
His energy is infectious and he truly feeds off the crowd by interacting with them, all while still staying silent. Whether it is pulling a judge up on stage and making pottery or doing one of his signature facial expressions to a member of the audience, Tape Face is extraordinary at keeping the crowd involved.
6. Imagine all the tape he could buy with one million dollars
On Amazon a roll of duct tape is about six dollars right now. At this price Tape Face would be able to purchase approximately 166,666 rolls of duct tape. He would have so much duct tape that he could use a different color for every night of his shows in Las Vegas and he would never have to speak again.
7. His jokes are for adults and kids
Taking a bra off a “girl,” forming clay into not-so PG shapes, to singing oven mitts and using a toothbrush as a propeller. Tape Face’s show is a buffet because there is something for everyone and he is the perfect definition of a family show. It is not too inappropriate for the kids but not too childlike for parents.
8. His Las Vegas show would be hilarious
If Tape Face won, his Las Vegas show would be compelling from start to finish. It would be unbelievably entertaining to see what the next material he uses is and how he uses it.
9. His show would never be cancelled if he lost his voice
Sore throat? No Voice? No problem. The show must go on and Tape Face Guy will always deliver because unlike magic, comedy, singing or even danger acts his voice is not an integral part of his routine. There for the show would never be cancelled due to these unfortunate circumstances that take out so many other performers.
10. He is the reason AGT was created
Tape Face Guy’s hilarity, originality and his sheer ability to be extremely intriguing make for an amazing show and these are just a few reasons that he should be the poster child for America’s Got Talent. He is everything AGT was created for and exactly why his out-of-the-box act should win this year.
11. Because he literally made America laugh with a toothbrush
Tape Face has so much natural-born showmanship that it is almost impossible to look away when watching his performances. Who knew something as simple as a toothbrush and a envelope could make America laugh and potentially have him win one million dollars and a show in Las Vegas.
12. On YouTube, his videos have more views than golden buzzers.
Golden buzzer acts are supposed to be so amazingly phenomenal they blow the judges away, which they did, but not America. Tape Face’s videos are what is trending more on YouTube than all of these acts and it is because of his versatility and how interesting he is. Clearly the judges made a mistake by not choosing to golden buzzer the epitome of talent.
13. His facial expressions make the performance 110 percent better
Creepy eyeliner, wide eyes and crazy facial expressions are a must when it comes to Tape Face. Not only in the performances but the way he responds to the judges and Nick Cannon talking to him make his appearance 110 percent more interesting, that much more funny and so much more fun to watch.
14. His three performances were perfect
He was in synch with the music, never missing a beat. Every single action he did lined up perfectly with the music, showing how much effort and time he puts into practicing his craft. While watching his performances, it is evident to see that his work is not thrown together and that he takes every performance seriously.
15. He does not use extravagant stuff to deter from his act
Oftentimes, performers will go to extremes with their special effects. These effects can often cover up flaws and imperfections but with Tape Face there are no bells, whistles or distracting backgrounds. The focus is solely on him which makes the show that much more amazing.
16. He is inspiring
Tape Face shows that it is okay to be different and to embrace every single one of your unique traits. If you have a weird talent, you should pursue it as long as it is making people happy and it is enjoyable to watch.
