As a 20-year-old approaching my senior year in college, I am precariously perched between adolescence and adulthood. Sometimes I feel like a kid who needs her mommy at all times as I lie in bed with my baby blanket, while other times I feel like I have my life together so much that I'm ready to take on the world head-on. Most of the time I'm the former, completely confused as to why in the world I'm expected to handle adult responsibilities when just three years ago, in high school, I had to ask for permission to use the bathroom. The more I talk to my peers, the more I find that I'm not alone in these feelings. Luckily, God made cats to sympathize with our pain. Here are a few sentiments we share.

1. Your first adult job/internship can be pretty scary.

2. Sometimes, you just feel stuck.

3. To compensate, you try to look more professional.

4. If you're a guy, you might even try to grow a dapper mustache to appear more adult-like.

5. But there are still days where you just can't catch up with life.

6. And you're completely overwhelmed.

7. You try your best to eat like a healthy, responsible adult.

8. Sometimes, though, food soothes your soul through the growing pains.

9. And those growing pains can come more often than you expect.

10. Netflix on the couch with a beverage of your choice is sometimes the only remedy.

11. You're torn between wanting to party with your friends...

12. And going into hibernation after a long day of school, work or both.

13. You really want to feel sophisticated.

14. But most of the time, you're a hot mess.

15. It's okay to not have it all together, though.

16. We're just starting out in life, so don't be afraid to fail or struggle.

17. So embrace this special, in-between time in your life. It might seem uncomfortable and downright strange at times, but you're only in this time period for a short amount of time.
