17 Awesome Things About The Month Of November

The month of November may seem like an in-between month to some, but let's not disregard it just yet. There are plenty of things for us to be thankful for in the month of November, no pun intended. Here are some favorites to embrace during this month.

1. Turkey Day, obviously.

Thanksgiving, that day of the year where you get to give thanks with all of your friends/family and eat a whole bunch of turkey. What more could one ask for?

2. Football

Some call it their favorite sport, others aren't a fan. However, there's nothing like just relaxing on a Sunday afternoon, watching big manly men tackle the crap out of each other, especially while watching as your dad yells at the TV.

3. SWEATERS

Cozy sweaters, baggy sweaters, cardigans, oh my.

4. No Shave November

A tradition of creating awareness and raising money for a great cause.

5. Black Friday

Personally – one of my favorite days of the year, where I get to shop in the wee hours of the morning, and spend more money than I have without feeling any guilt.

6. Red Cups at Starbucks

Let's be honest, we all get pretty excited when it's red cup season.

7. Gobblers at Wawa

For anyone who might not know, a gobbler is the greatest food creation ever made. It really is Thanksgiving in a sandwich; hot turkey, gravy, stuffing, and cranberries on a roll. Yum.

8. Veteran's Day

A great way to honor our veterans that have protected our country. A thank you to all of the vets out there.

9. All of the 'Friends' Thanksgiving episodes that will be played on TV.

The Thanksgiving episodes from the TV show 'Friends' are always hilarious, and a must watch for all.

10. Also, Charlie Brown!

Let's not forget the classic tradition of watching A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

11. Reuniting with Friends/Family

Whether it's coming home for the holidays or for break you get to reunite with the your loved ones back home.

12. Thanksgiving Eve

The night before Thanksgiving when you're either out with your friends, or.. oh wait no, just out with your friends having a great time.

13. CIDER

When we were little we all used to think we were so cool drinking cider. Well, I still pretty much think that.

14. Pumpkin Everything

Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin bread, just a lot of pumpkin.

15. Realizing All That We Are Thankful For

With November being focused on Thanksgiving, it helps us all reflect on what and who we are thankful for this year.

16. Friendsgiving

Getting together with your squad a few days before Thanksgiving, as you make your own food and bring it to into this night of ridiculousness.

17. Preparing for the Christmas Festivities

When you're too jolly for the Christmas season to begin so you pick your secret santa's, put up your lights, listen to Christmas music 24/7, and try to patiently wait for it to be December 1.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
