We have Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, and even Great Abe Lincoln, but many made up characters can create the same characteristics that we've learned to look up to. When in doubt or an all-time low in your life, never fear to just turn on the television and find some inspiration. Here are 16 quotes that keep me functioning from time to time.

1. Meredith Grey, Grey's Anatomy

"We do our very best, but sometimes it's just not good enough. We try so hard to protect ourselves, but it doesn't make a damn bit of difference. Cause when the bad things come, they come out of nowhere. The bad things come suddenly, with no warning. But we forget that sometimes that's how the good things come too."

2. Richard Webber, Grey's Anatomy

”Sometimes it's good to be scared. It means you still have something to lose."

3. Michael Scott, The Office

"Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way."

4. Dwight Schrute, The Office

“Before I do anything, I ask myself, would an idiot do that? And if the answer is yes, I do not do that thing.”

5. Ron Swanson, Parks & Rec

“Never Half- Ass Two Things. Whole- Ass One Thing.”

6. Leslie Knope, Parks & Rec

“One person’s annoying is another’s inspiring and heroic.”

7. Eleven, Stranger Things

“Friends don’t lie.”

8. Johnathon Byers, Stranger Things

"You shouldn’t like things because people tell you-you're supposed to.”

9. Vee, Orange is the New Black

“If you’re not building a future, it’s because you don’t believe there is a future.”

10. Alaida, Orange is the New Black

“A lot of people are stupid and still live full, productive lives.”

11. Amanda, Shameless

“Just because we were born here, doesn’t mean that we end up here.”

12. Ian Gallagher, Shameless

“Sometimes we get so wrapped up in getting what we want, that we forget to ask ourselves why we wanted it in the first place.”

13. Arya Stark, Game of Thrones

“A bruise is a lesson, and each lesson makes us better.”

14. Tyrion Lannister, Game of Thrones

“Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you.”

15. BoJack Horseman

“Every day it gets a little easier. But you have to do it every day. That’s the hard part.”

16.Bojack Horseman

“BoJack, when you get sad, you run straight ahead and keep running forward, no matter what. There are people in your life that are gonna try to hold you back, slow you down, but you don’t let them. Don’t you stop running and don’t you ever look behind you. There’s nothing for you behind you. All that exists is what’s ahead.”

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
