October is the official start of fall and the holiday season, and it's the season of dressing in sweaters, tall boots, and scarves. Even though it means that the weather cools down, the trees turn beautiful colors, the bugs go away, and football season is in full swing. I love being able to dress in cozy clothes, and fall colors are so calming. Here are 16 reasons why I love October.
1. Halloween.
Need I say more?! Halloween is one of the greatest times for college students. Dressing up and letting loose after two weeks of many, many midterms is something college students look forward to all year.
2. Football Season.
Football season is in full swing and tailgates aren't 100 degrees anymore. On a side note, this was the single greatest moment in college football history.
3. Sweaters.
Sweater weather is the coziest time of the year. Fall fashion brings on the cutest trends.
4. "American Horror Story" comes back on.
AHS is amazing. Sarah Paulson, Even Peters, and even Lady Gaga starred in a season. It's a brilliant show and one of the highlights of October. Now, Jessica Lange just needs to come back and my life will be complete.
5. "Stranger Things" returns to Netflix.
"Stranger Things" took us by storm and I'm patiently (ehh, not so much) waiting for season two. R.I.P. Barb *crying*.
6. October 3.
" Mean Girls" is a staple film of our generation and we celebrate October 3 like it's Christmas.
7. Cider Mills.
Apple cider and cider doughnuts are finally back and my favorite snack. All the cider mills open and make for some of the cutest dates and Instagram photos.
8. Halloween Decorations.
My apartment is currently decked out in Halloween decor and lights.
9. It is the official start of the Holidays.
Halloween kicks off the start of the holidays. October through December is filled with family and friends and celebrations of the year coming to an end.
10. The best Starbucks drinks are back.
Pumpkin spice and salted caramel mocha are finally back and channel all of our basic college girl needs.
11. Oktoberfest.
Beer, beer, and more beer. It's a 3-week celebration of beer.
12. Halloween Candy.
HALLOWEEN CANDY. Literally, nothing is better.
13. Apple picking returns and makes every girl happy.
October brings the return of cute fall dates at the apple orchards.
14. The leaves changing colors.
The changing leaves in the fall are beautiful, especially in Michigan.
15. The bugs are gone!!
I don't know about anyone else, but stink bugs have invaded my life and finally, FINALLY, they are dead and gone. BYE.
16. DAVID S. PUMPKINS.
The icon of Halloween and possibly, of the century.
