As surprising as it is to learn that Keanu Reeves, a talented actor with an estimated net worth of three hundred and fifty million dollars, is so humble, there’s more. At three years old Keanu’s father abandoned his family. In 1993, Keanu’s best friend, actor River Phoenix died of a drug overdose. In 1998, Keanu fell in love with Jennifer Syme who was pregnant with his child by 1999. Syme gave birth to a stillborn daughter. The tragedy broke the couple up however they remained friends. Eighteen months later Syme died in a car crash.

So what is it that makes Keanu Reeves the most amazing star in Hollywood; the fact that he is so kind, hardworking and humble or that he remains an optimistic person after numerous heartbreaks? The answer is both. Keanu saw the light at the end of the tunnel and decided to use his circumstances to make the world a better place. Thank you Keanu, we love you!

1. First, but definitely least, the fifty-year-old heart throb is handsome and ageless.

2. His name means “cool breeze over the mountains” in Hawaiian.

3. Keanu has donated millions to charities such as PETA, SickKids Foundation and Stand Up To Cancer.

4. He spent over five million dollars helping his sister fight leukemia.

5. He refuses to take credit for his generosity by often not attaching names to his gifts.

    6. Reeves once spent hours eating and hanging out with the homeless people of Los Angeles.

    7. He gave away somewhere between seventy-five to eighty million dollars to the special effects and costume design teams of The Matrix sequels.

    8. Reeves bought the entire stunt team of The Matrix sequels Harley Davidson motorcycles.

    9. Coworkers of his from The Matrix claim Keanu “said hello to everyone and genuinely wanted to know everyone’s name.”

    10. He voluntarily took pay cuts for movies like The Devil’s Advocate and TheReplacements so stars like Al Pachino and Gene Hackman would agree to the films while keeping the casting within the budget.

      11. After hearing that one of the set builders, from The Matrix, was having family troubles, Keanu gave a $20,000 bonus to him.

        12. Keanu humbly rides the subway and was once filmed offering his seat up to a woman.

Still not convinced? Let’s allow his co-stars to wrap this up….

        13. “He has every reason to be stuck up and have a big head, but he’s not that way at all. He’s a really wonderful person.” -Sandra Bullock

          14. “He’s an incredible man; I can’t tell you how amazing Keanu Reeves is.” -Carrie-Anne Moss

          15. “Keanu is complete, totally committed to his work. One of the most professional people I’ve ever worked with.” -Rachel Weiss

            16. “One of the most disciplined, caring, hardworking people I’ve ever worked with.” -Jennifer Connelly

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
