Being manipulative is not a positive thing. If the only way that you can get through life is to manipulate everyone you meet, even your loved ones, that's just sad.

1. Alcoholics

If you have a drink in your hand every single time I see you, or if you have to have a drink to have fun, that's just ridiculous and absurd.

2. Big-mouthed

Gossiping is childish. It's one thing to gossip every once in a while, but the people that only ever gossip and talk about nothing else- I can't stand those people.

3. Childish (applies to adults)

I feel as though there is a difference between being childish and being immature. To me, being childish is best described as middle adult behaving similar to a toddler.

4. Dependent

I'm not talking about slightly dependent, I'm talking about those people that honest to God would crumple up and die if they weren't with someone for so much as five minutes.

5. Oblivious

This is just painful. I've met someone who is honestly so oblivious, you could talk about them to their face and they still wouldn't understand.

6. When someone doesn't laugh, they just say "That's so funny!"

This is just plain annoying. Is it really funny? Is it?

7. Idiotic

I need people to be at least slightly intelligent, otherwise holding a conversation is painful. You'd be surprised at the number of people who don't have a vocabulary above an 8th-grade level- it's annoying to have to stop and define words every other sentence.

8. Lewd

Being frank, I can't stand people who are known for sleeping around or cheating.

9. Liar

I hate liars. I hate when people blatantly lie, and I hate when people don't stick with their stories if they do lie- it's just pathetic.

10. Melodramatic

If you exaggerate everything that happens in your life, I can't stick around.

11. Overly-sensitive

Oh my god, if you can't take even the smallest amount of criticism, if you cry when someone doesn't cling to you- I can't handle that (mostly because I don't know how to deal with other people's emotions).

12. Selfish

This sort of ties in with narcissistic, but selfishness doesn't always match the narcissism level. I don't deal with selfish people, it's a waste of my time.

13. Unsophisticated

This isn't a big deal when you think about general unsophistication. I get that not all of us are sitting in the living room sipping champagne and laughing about whatever our neighbor's drama is, hell I'm not doing that. However, when you're starting nuclear arguments with guests, you have some serious thinking to do.

14. Vain

When you have the rest of these characteristics and you think that you're "all that", oh no.

15. Gluttonous/ Materialistic

Again, as with dependent, there is a line. It's all right if you have three cars to yourself or a closet full of expensive clothes. It's more than annoying when you spend what seems to be 80% of your monthly paycheck on things you will never need.

16. Immature

When you've been out of your sorority for 15 years, but you still act like the television stereotype of a blond sorority sister that drinks her days away and gossip about everything under the Sun, please stop.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
