Singing has and always will be one of the talents that I wish I possessed, but unfortunately, do not. Therefore, I tend to take out all my wishing of being able to sing onto finding new music that I thoroughly enjoy.
Recently, I've turned to music for a lot which means I've discovered not only a numerous amount but also a lot that have spoken to me specifically.
1. "Simple Gospel" by United Pursuit
This has become one of my most recent favorites. It exemplifies the fact that we are in charge of seeking God out and that we have to make an effort to grow closer to Him.
2. "Pursue/ All I Need is You"--Medley/Live--by Hillsong Worship
Like "Simple Gospel," this one pushes me to grow closer to God and makes me want to know more about the one who created us all.
3. "Pieces" by Steffany Gretzinger
This song is one of those that has a simple tune in the back, but then it's almost like a sermon within the song. It's repetitive, but I take that as an opportunity to let it really beat into my head that God's love is more than we can ever fathom.
4. "This Love" by Housefires
This song is one of those that has a simple tune in the back, but then it's almost like a sermon within the song. It's repetitive, but I take that as an opportunity to let it really beat into my head that God's love is more than we can ever fathom.
5. "Broken Vessels" by Hillsong Worship
Hillsong took "Amazing Grace" and put their own twist on it to make an amazing song that I love replaying over and over.
6. "Reckless Love" by Steffany Gretzinger OR Cory Asbury
A friend of mine showed this to me before it got really popular and wow. I was driving back to Arkansas from Texas A&M the next day, and I kid you not I played this song the entire six-hour drive back.
7. "O Come to the Altar" by Elevation Worship
The first time I heard this song my associate youth pastor sang it on a Wednesday night, and my heart sank as I listened to the words.
8. "Relent" by Citizens and Saints
Just like "Reckless Love," I turn to this song when I need reassurance about both my faith and also that God loves me the way that I am.
9. "King of My Heart" by Steffany Gretzinger
Like I said, Steffany Gretzinger KILLS me. Everything about this song makes me want to get up and sing along, but it's also a good reminder that God should always be first in your heart.
10. "Resurrecting" by Elevation Worship
With God anything is possible. When I was saved, one of the women who helped me through the prayer described that day as my new "birthday" because when you FULLY submit your life to God and living for Him then you're living a life that's completely new and profoundly better. This song puts all of that into one.
11. "Sinking Deep" by Hillsong Young and Free
This is one of my favorite songs to sing with other people in the car. In fact, I play it almost every time I'm with people on a far drive.
12. "You Make Me Brave" by Bethel Music
13. "Psalm 34" by Shane and Shane
A friend of mine showed this song to me over the Summer while on a mission trip in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It's a complete word for word replica of the actual Psalm 34.
14. "Once and for All" by Lauren Daigle
I went to her concert last year and the amount of love that she herself has for the Lord was overwhelming and so inspiring. Once and for All is a good reminder that this world is temporary and that God is forever.
15. "Death was Arrested" by North Point InsideOut
This one is my personal, forever favorite. This song has brought me an insane amount of peace just by being in my car alone worshipping to it. It's amazing to know that we worship a God that sent HIS SON to DIE ON A CROSS for the sins that WE committed. This song gets me overwhelmingly excited every time I hear it, and you should experience that joy too.
