Having a dog will bless you with the happiest days of your life and some of the toughest. I’ve been lucky enough to have furry friends by my side from the start to take on this crazy thing we call life. There isn’t one thing I would change at all, because anyone who loves dogs knows that they have the ability to teach you compassion, friendship, and love.
Throughout my life, I’ve always believed that having a dog helps make you a better person. They will always be there for you, protect you, and adore you. That’s not to say that there aren’t some bumps in the road because there definitely is, but overall they teach us the most valuable lesson in life there is, true unconditional love.
Here are a few things that any dog owner can forever relate to:
1. The best part of your day is immediately coming home to a wagging tail.
2. All of your social media followers can expect to constantly see their news feed bombarded with pictures of your dog. #DogsOfInstagram
3. You secretly wish you could bring them everywhere with you.
4. You will forever have your own alarm system.
5. You can count on that no sleeping on the bed rule going away as soon as you make it.
6. When they give you a puppy tilt after chewing up your favorite pair of shoes so you can't stay mad at them.
7. Bath time makes you feel like the worst puppy parent in the world.
8. You spend a pretty penny on memory foam beds, but they never end up using it.
9. When you’re trying to play catch and they don’t understand the "give it back" part.

12. They could be fast asleep, but as soon as you open that cheese wrapper they perk up in an instant.
