Las Vegas is known for its party atmosphere, and it can often be difficult to find fun, wholesome activities to do if you are underage or have small children in your family. I myself was born and raised in Sin City, so I personally understand the struggle that comes with finding things to do year-round, but particularly around Christmas. It may be hard to imagine that there are many Christmas activities that the whole family can enjoy together around this time of year, but never fear - I have compiled a list of the best things in Las Vegas that people of all ages are sure to enjoy around the holidays.

1. The Magical Forest

I have been going to the Magical Forest with my dad at Christmas time since before I was old enough to walk. It has become a major Christmas tradition for me as well as many others in the Las Vegas valley. With thousands of lights, elaborate decorations, train rides, funnel cake, and live performances, it's sure to be one of the coolest things you'll do this year.

2. Mystic Falls Park at Sam's Town

Every year, Sam's Town hotel and casino decks out Mystic Falls Park for Christmas. Additionally, their laser light show will be holiday themed- it's a one of a kind experience you do not want to miss.

3. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens

If you live in Las Vegas, you probably know how big of a deal the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical gardens are. The famous hotel elaborately redecorates a special area of their first floor on a regular basis, and it is truly breathtaking around Christmas. It is unlike anything you have ever seen, so be sure to check it out. The best part? It's completely free!

4. And of course, the Bellagio fountains

While you're at the Bellagio, you have to check out the famous Bellagio fountains! The water show is set to Christmas music this time of year- seriously cool!

5. LINQ Promenade

The LINQ is transformed into a winter wonderland this time of year, complete with decorations, carolers, and holiday music. There are even live performances occurring nightly at the fountain stage.

6. Ethel M's Factory & Cactus Garden

As if Ethel M's chocolate factory weren't awesome enough, it's even better around Christmas. The factory's cactus garden is decorated with colorful lights, blowups, and other decorations. Be sure to get a cup of the best hot chocolate in town while you walk around!

7. Cosmopolitan Ice Rink

If you're into ice skating, the Cosmopolitan ice rink is a must! You can make s'mores in the fire pits, and there are light snow showers every half-hour. It also has a great view of the strip, so be sure to stop by.

8. December to Remember (Neon Museum)

With dozens of vintage Las Vegas signs, the Las Vegas Neon Museum is stunning year-round. It is especially cool at Christmas, however, with ornament decorating and caroling. In the past they've even had live performances from the Las Vegas Academy choir.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
