I feel like I'm always seeing people with unique names complain about people not pronouncing or spelling their name right and I get it, having an uncommon name comes with its own set of problems. However I can't help but still envy those people because having an extremely common name comes with its own set of problems as well. Here are some of them:
1. You never know when someone is talking to you or someone else with your name.
2. So you eventually just start assuming it’s someone else.
3. You can’t get an email address or username account that even resembles your name.
4. You get stuck with nicknames you don't want so everyone else has an easier time.
5. You are more likely to enter a relationship with someone with the same name as you.
6. And then you’ll get stuck with number 1 or 2 at the end of your name against your will.
7. Your class of 30 students will likely have at least 4 others with your same name.
8. So when your name is called, there's at least 4 people that are all like:
9. You get annoyed when people try to make your common name unique by switching up the spelling.
10. You instantly connect with someone with your name because you know what they’ve been through.
11. Or in some cases, you feel like it’s a competition.
12. When someone says your name when taking roll.
13. You’ve gotten strange text messages from people meant to text someone else.
“Sorry, wrong Taylor!”
