While a lot of people would atest that 2016 was by far the worst year in history, there were a few high points we can look back on and be thankful for.
1. World hunger reached it's lowest point in 25 years
2. Sea World agreed to stop breeding captive killer whales
3. For the first time in a century, the number of tigers in the wild rose
4. Humpback whales were removed from the endangered species list
5. Green Sea Turtles were removed as well
6. and so were Giant Pandas
7. and manatees -- yay!!
8. Leonardo DiCaprio finally won an Oscar
9. The Cubs won the World Series...finally
10. Finding Nemo got a sequel and it was actually good
11. There's now a vaccine for Ebola
12. The Ozone layer is repairing itself
13. 93% of the worlds children learned to read and write
14. suicide rates are down globally
15. Major fast food chains in the U.S. pledged that by 2025 they will only use cage free eggs
