15 Things I Love About Being A Woman

It's so easy to get caught up in all the negative things about being a woman, especially in today's society. We focus all of our energy on what's wrong with us, or how hard it is to be a woman when we should be celebrating ourselves. Like, yeah we have periods and people say things like, "You hit like a girl," as an insult and the whole child-birth situation, but all of that put aside, we really do have a lot of benefits being women. There's the unashamed squeal we give when we see cute baby animals, we (typically) don't have to mow the lawn, we don't always have to wear pants (thanks dresses and skirts!) and nobody gives us a second glance if we show our emotions. So instead of picking each other and ourselves apart, let's come together and remember why we would much rather be a woman than be a man.

1. Getting our nails done

I'm a sucker for a hot pink manicure, and glitter... so much glitter. Nothing makes me feel more lady-like than having my nails done.

2. Eating all the chocolate we want

Lucy and Ethel couldn't have said it better. I'll use any excuse for some chocolate.

3. Big Earrings

I am a huge fan of the big earring look, but that could be a Southern thing. At any rate, what woman doesn't love jewelry?

4. Freshly shaved legs and clean bed sheets

Like Meredith, when I do shave my legs there is nothing I like more than snuggling up in bed. This must be what heaven feels like.

5. Wearing lipstick

There is nothing I love more than wearing red lipstick. It's classic, and sexy and easy to pull off.

6. Wearing flip flops

Hello everyone, my name is Regan and I'm addicted to flip flops. *Hi Regan*.

Welcome to FFA - Flip Flops Anonymous. I have too many pairs, in almost every pattern and color... gotta have them all.

7. Having nice eyebrows

Eyes might be the window to the soul, but your eyebrows make me judge your character. Having great eyebrows can make or break your day.

8. Girls night

Letting loose with your girls is such a good stress relief. You can go to the bar, you can stay in and binge-watch "Greys Anatomy"... it's all good.

9. Always being right

This is self explanatory. #suckit

10. Not having to pay for food

OK, hear me out. It is OK for the girl to get the check, or to pay half, but it's so nice when a guy just does it... like thanks for the tacos, you just earned yourself some brownie points in my eyes.

11. Not always having to drink beer

Beer isn't awful, but as a lady it's not my first choice. Luckily for us, we have a variety of choices.

12. Puppies!

We can look at cute puppy videos all day long and nobody would ever even say boo to us.. score

13. Retail therapy

There is nothing more soothing than buy yourself something nice. What can't a new pair of shoes fix?

14. Looking at ourselves in mirrors

If I see a mirror, I'm looking in it. Like yes, I know I literally just looked at my hair, but I just want to double check.

15. Taking your bra off after a long day

I'm not even sure if there is a "boy-equivalent" feeling for this.. This is the basic definition of freedom.

So remember, if you're having a bad day, or don't feel like you're good enough, just look back at this and remember how truly great you are.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
