College is the first time you take on life without your mom to keep you in line and hold your hand. However, some of us are lucky enough to have a roommate who makes a pretty good stand-in.

1. She yells at you to get up for your 8 a.m.

2. She makes sure you eat well-balanced meals every day.

3. She makes sure you get your veggies in too.

4. She makes you go to the gym.

5. She drags you to the library.

6. She does your laundry (sometimes).

7. She keeps snacks handy at all times.

8. She is your shoulder to cry on.

9. She holds your hair back.

10. She dishes out tough love when you're being a baby.

11. She is always down for a girls' day of shopping.

That is, the disease to buy everything in sight.

12. She embarrasses you on Facebook.

13. She is your biggest supporter.

14. Any boy you're interested in must gain her approval first.

15. She tells you she loves you.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
