It's that time of the year - the weather is changing, it's getting colder, and the sun is setting earlier. For those of us in school, the semester is coming to an end sooner than we would all like, for the sake of our schoolwork, but not soon enough, for the sake of our sanity. There's just an overall negative feeling in the air right now. Trust me, I get it, I'm right there with you. I know when I'm feeling down, I listen to music for hours and hours on end (especially on Spotify, when it keeps playing music even after my playlist has ended). So here are just a few songs to remind you that you are strong, you got this, and you're not alone:

1. i believe - Christina Perri

'Cause I have been where you are before
And I have felt the pain of losing who you are
And I have died so many times, but I am still alive

2. Numb - David Archuleta

It hurts to live so wide awake, oh
But it's a chance I can take
I won't run run run
'Cause I don't wanna feel numb

3. Make Up - The Script

No, you don't need make up to cover your face, love
You're beautiful now, within and without, be good to yourself, you're doing me proud
No, you don't need make up to cover your scars up
You're beautiful now, within and without, and never forget you're doing me proud

4. Invisible - Linkin Park

If I cannot break your fall
I'll pick you up right off the ground
If you felt invisible, I won't let you feel that now

5. Where Do You Run - The Score

Where do you run
When you can't face your fears
'Cause every time I run, I run to you

6. Don't Stay Low - The Good Mad

Look for the sun
And lift up your head
Don't say low, don't stay low
No just pick yourself up and go on

7. Warrior Daughter - Wildwood Kin

You are a warrior
Strength and courage lies within your heart
Daughter, can't you see your power never fades
For my armour keeps you safe

8. Remind You - Andy Grammer

I will remind you
I will remind you
I will be, I'll be your memory
I will remind you, I will remind you
All you need, is someone else to see
And they'll remind you

9. Fix You - Coldplay

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

10. Turning Out - AJR

You say I turned out fine
I think I'm still turning out

11. Keeping Your Head Up - Birdy

Let go of all your haunted dreams tonight
I'll be keeping your head up
I'll be keeping your head up
And I won't let you down

12. Little Bit - Perrin Lamb

There’s a little bit of sunshine, in all you do
There’s a little bit of sunshine, breaking through
Every little rain cloud envies you
There’s a little bit of sunshine, in all you do

13. Be Still - The Fray

When darkness comes upon you
And covers you with fear and shame
Be still and know that I'm with you
And I will say your name

14. Shadows - Sabrina Carpenter

And listen to me
It's okay to be afraid
Just walk like you're never alone
I don't mind your shadows

15. Take on the World - You Me At Six

And just say the word, we'll take on the world
Just say you're hurt, we'll face the worst
Nobody knows you the way that I know you
Look in my eyes. I will never desert you.
And just say the word, we'll take on the world

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
