Having a bad day is inevitable. You're bound to get stressed, sad, or angry and sometimes it's really hard to get out of the funk that you find yourself in. Some people find that listening to music lifts their spirits.

I am one of those people so of course, I have a playlist of songs that lift my spirits whenever I'm feeling down in the dumps. Feel free to take note of songs that spark even the slightest bit of happiness in your heart.

1. Thunder by Imagine Dragons

This newly released song by Imagine Dragons is taking over radio stations across the country. This song has a beat that will get your head bopping and lyrics that are fun to sing at the top of your lungs.

2. Castle On The Hill by Ed Sheeran

This song features lyrics that are very poetic and tell the story of overcoming challenges in everyday life. It also highlights the simple pleasures in life like hanging out with your friends, driving through the backroads, and "watching the sunset on the castle on the hill".

3. Lisztomania by Pheonix

Lisztomania is the type of song that would be played during a photo montage of you and your friends driving on the highway with the top down on your car, hair blowing in the wind, and ending up at a beach. Overall, this song makes me think of summer and a little bit of vitamin D never killed anyone.

4. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen

You are lying to yourself if you say you don't sing/scream this song while throwing out some very dramatic hand gestures.

5. Can't Stop The Feeling by Justin Timberlake

As overplayed as this song was this past summer, you can't help but smile and sing along when the chorus comes on.

6. Good To Be Alive (Hallelujah) by Andy Grammer

While this may not be the most well-known Andy Grammer songs, it still has that fun and funky vibe that Honey, I'm Good and Keep Your Head Up have. And when that beat drops in the chorus you can't help love life a little more than you already did.

7. One Foot by Walk The Moon

This song was the first single released from Walk The Moon's new album What If Nothing. After a 3 year time period of not having any new content from this fabulous group, listeners, including myself, were overjoyed to have a musically and lyrically uplifting song rise from the ashes.

8. Dancing Queen by ABBA

Everyone loves this song. It's just a fact.

9. Nine In The Afternoon by Panic! At The Disco

This song is just plain fun to listen to. End of story.

10. Wannabe by The Spice Girls

I have yet to meet a person who doesn't feel like dancing when this song comes on at any grocery store, wedding, school dance, or throwback Thursday playlist.

11. Ignition (Remix) by R. Kelly

A little early 2000's nostalgia never hurt anybody.

12. Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go by Wham!

George Michael, in this case, is representing the 80's in its prime. The funny, nonsense lyrics also make this song fun to listen to and clap along to.

13. Sunday Morning by Maroon 5

I'll be surprised if this song doesn't make you want to curl up in a blanket with a warm cup of coffee and start your Sunday morning with blissful happiness.

14. 867-5309/Jenny by Tommy Tutone

Again, just another fun throwback song. Try calling 867-5309 and let me know what happens.

15. September by Earth, Wind, and Fire

This song is my personal go-to. No matter how awful I'm feeling about myself or what's going on around me, this 3 minutes and 36 seconds of bliss can always lift my spirits.

There's also no way you can't not dance or at least tap your foot when you hear this song's funky beat.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
