The biggest lie known to band: the phrase "one more time"

You know that you will always have to run the show at least 3 more times... it's inevitable.
Making sure that you are always in step with the person next to you

There is no greater feeling than knowing that you are in step with the person walking next to you. Just double step and you are good to go.
Every time a song comes on you have to walk to the tempo (a.k.a "beat" for all you non- band members)
This needs no explanation, It just automatically happens if you are a true band kid.
You get offended at the phrase "band isn't that hard."
Okay Susan, you carry an instrument, play, stay in step, watch the drum major, and count all while trying to march from one 30 yard line to the other in 15 counts.
Football season does not exist

Let's be real guys, it's marching season.
Bus rides are never quiet with a marching band
GiphyAway games and competitions consist of singing every stand tune and every song in your halftime show. You can never get on a band bus without hearing "Sweet Caroline BUM BUM BUM!"
Most conversations start with the phrase "this one time at band camp..."
You always know that there is going to be a great ending to the story
Most conversations end with the phrase "this is why I'm in band..."
When you horribly miss the trash can with that paper wad... we can't all be basketball/baseball/football super stars. We are band kids, what do you really expect?
Band camp tan line competitions are definitely a thing

Let's see who has the best Chaco or tank top/t-shirt tan line by the end of the two weeks of band camp.
When you picked up your instrument for the first time you probably tried to play it upside down
It happens to the best of us...
You get nervous when the band director has you 5 steps away from a color guard during a toss

Nothing tests your faith more than being next to a color guard on a windy day.
You are no stranger to the terms "splash n' dash" or "gush n' go"

It's a second language to you and those words are music to your ears on an extremely hot band camp day.
You forget that you actually have a life outside of band
Wait... you mean there is actually things I can do other than band?
You turn down plans with the phrase "I can't, I have band."

A band member's famous words.
You have a family that will last forever

There is no better family than a band family. Trust me, there is no group of people that knows you better than your band does. You spend hours upon years with these people and you can read each other like books. A band family is a bond that can never be broken. Once a family, always a family.
