It may be your first job or a way to a make a little money while in college, but either way, it is a blessing in disguise. Even if you don’t want to admit it, you know that it is one of the best jobs you’ve had where you learned a lot of new things, made friends, and had a ball while working for the public. So, sit back and see if you can relate to any of these signs about working in a grocery store.
1. You compulsively check expiration dates on products.
2. You can’t resist fixing mixed up or messy aisles.
3. You feel pity for the cashier since you remember your fair share of days stuck on the register.
4. When customers say, “It must be free!” you want to scream.
5. You feel as if you are betraying your place of employment when shopping at other places for groceries.
6. You receive attention (flirting) from people way too old for you.
7. When you see your usual (and favorite!) customers you want to jump for joy.
8. You accept that when something goes wrong, the customers will probably blame you.
9. The sad day when someone decides it’s time for him or her to move on to bigger and better things.

11. You scavenge for things to mark down or reduce (because it gives you this soothing and helpful feeling that you can’t describe).

13. You know the pain of hearing the same 10 songs for eight hours straight all too well.
14. You thank the grocery store gods when you aren’t scheduled to work truck days or open any day, that is.
